Sasuke's POV

A nightmare. That's what he believed this was. He ran, faster than he had ever run before. The feeling of something- someone, catching up to him increased by the very second. It was like the faster he ran the closer he got to this figure. And he couldn't fight. No, for some reason his body stripped him of the knowledge he had as a ninja.

The setting around him was one of a cave. Everywhere he turned he seemed to find himself in the same place as before and the remaining light went away each passing second.

Sasuke didn't even know what he was running from. His brother, maybe? No. That couldn't be right. Whatever was chasing him was much more sinister. Something even he himself was afraid of.

He ran behind a stalagmite, catching his breath as he closed his eyes and wished for this horror to go away. There was nowhere else to go, he was trapped. It felt as if he had been running and hiding for an everlasting amount of time. How long until he'd wake up?

His heartbeat increased as he heard footsteps not so far behind him, and the very sound of them made the floor tremble undearneath him. He yearned for anything to come and help him escape this madness.

And as if the gods had answered his pleads, a voice came from in front of him. It wasn't the one he had been running from. This voice was much softer, and for some reason that he couldn't quite understand he felt as if he could trust it.

"Sasuke!"

He turned towards the whisper, and saw a faint outline of onyx eyes peaking out from behind a large boulder. Immediately, it ran back behind hit, almost as if being caught.

"Keiko?"

Sasuke looked around before quickly scurring over to the rock, only to see no trace of his sister.

"Sasuke, over here!" his sister spoke again, but he heard her whisper from further away this time.

He saw her figure waving him over from a few yards away, but just like last time she disappeared behind the stone in a flash of light. Suddenly, it felt like he was the one doing the chasing now. He came back to his senses when ground began to shake again, and the terror closed in on him. Sasuke rushed after his sister as fast as he could, yet every time he caught up with her she was gone. He saw her black hair drift from a distance and went after it. When he reached the rock that he thought she was at this time, the footsteps were closer than they were before.

Carefully, he ducked no the side of the boulder, holding his breaths to himself and praying that his sister hadn't been found out.

"Sasuke.." a soft whisper arose from the other side of the rock, "Are you there?"

He wanted to crawl over to her, but he couldn't. He knew that if he moved he would risk both of them. After a few minutes of silence, a familiar-looking hand came into view from the side of his eye. It reached out to him, and even though Sasuke couldn't see her face he knew that she wasn't scared. He was reluctant in grabbing her hand, but as he reached for her it seemed like the terrors finally caught up. She was snatched from him, and the boudler was pushed out of the way to reveal a figure. It was too dark to make out a face but he could see his sisters in its grasp.

He sat there, frozen, all of his shinobi abilites escaping his mind.

The hand that had grabbed his sister began to reach for him as well, and all he could do was scream. However, that sound was muffled with a different scream.

"NO, COME BACK!"

And just then he woke up. He jumped up in bed, hand raised as if he had just thrown a shuriken. His sensei stood at the doorway, weapon implanted just above his head, and his arms crossed.

"Training hasn't started yet, you know."

The Uchiha stared at Kakashi with sweat trickling down his neck and his breathing heavy.  He could still feel shivers up his spine from the monster that chased him. That voice. It wasn't his sisters, yet he knew it. It was definitely a male's voice, but who?

Something about the nightmare seemed all too strange for him.

He pulled his covers off, trudging towards the door and pushing past his sensei. He'd think about it later.
