As planned, they transferred Khalil's mom to Kali's house discreetly. While Kali is fixing Mrs. Brandt's IV, she noticed how anxious Khalil is.

"She'll be fine, I promise," she said making Khalil look at her.

Khalil sighed, "I know, but I'm still worried,"

"Yeah? About?" Kali asked.

"The serum, my uncle, and when he finds out that Mom is here. I'm worried for you too," Khalil admitted.

Kali glanced at him, "Wait for me in the living room. We'll talk after I'm done with this,"

Khalil obeyed and waited till Kali is done. When Kali is done, she went out of her lab and found a spacing-out Khalil in her living room.

Shaking her head, she sat beside the man and patted his knee, startling the man.

"Uhm..how's Mom?" he asked.

"She's stable," Kali answered. "So, let's talk about these worries of yours," she added.

Releasing a deep breath, "Where to start?" Khalil asked himself.

"Let me, first about your uncle and mom, he will never lay a finger on her ever again, I promise," Kali assured him.

"I know you are protected by Elixir, but will it not be too much on your part? I mean, this has nothing to do with them," Khalil asked. He doesn't want to put Kali's connection with the Org. in jeopardy because of him.

Kali can see how genuinely worried the man is for her. She smiled and chuckle a little.

"Believe me you're not, so don't worry about it," Kali said.

"But-

"Let's talk about it solely later," Kali cuts in.

Sighing, "Fine, but promise me that you are safe," he bargained.

Chuckling, "I'm more than safe," Kali said.

"Tsk, okay... So, Uhm... The serum?" Khalil queries.

"It's not here and no longer exists," Kali told him.

Worry shows on Khalil's face.

"Why are you worried about it? The creator is in front of you?" Kali asked.

Khalil looked down. "Will it take years to re-create it?" he asked softly still looking down.

"Hmm, not really. With everything that's needed, I can make it in less than 24 hours. Besides, I will not use the same serum for her," Kali stated.

"What do you mean?" Khalil asked.

Kali crossed her legs and leaned comfortably on the sofa, "For starters, I will examine your mom's system. She's been induced for years. I will find and study everything before I decide what to do, but for now, I will nourish her body back and clean her system. Her body might react due to a sudden stop of the medicines that your uncle is giving her," Kali explained.

"What exactly uncle is doing in her body?" Khalil asked.

"Well, he wanted to shut your mom. Not entirely killing her but just keeping her quiet," Kali said.

"Why would he do that to his sister?" Khalil asked clenching his fists.

"We will find out everything soon enough," Kali said.

Khalil nodded but remembered something, "The serum..."

Kali looks at him...

"If it's no longer existing, what did my man see?" he asked.
