Five months after the wedding, Kali starts feeling odd. Her stomach was aching from time to time. She also sometimes has short breaths.
"K, these are- Hey, what's wrong?!"
Zed who came to hand some documents rushed to her when he saw her having a hard time breathing.
Without thinking much, Zed decided to bring her to the hospital. He carried her through the lift.
"Just a little bit and- Shit! Kali, open your eyes!"
Kali lost consciousness. Zed looked at the CCTV inside the lift. "Code red" he uttered.
When they arrived at the hospital, everything was ready. They checked her carefully. Kali woke up after an hour.
"Who checked me?" she asked the moment she opened her eyes.
"Wow, no— "Where am I?" Zed joked.
Kali just stared at him seriously. Zed sighed.
"Dr. Trina, and Dr. Callum," Trina is her OB and Callum is a cardiologist.
"So, it's because of my heart," she stated. "Call them in," she ordered.
"Right away, boss," Zed said and pressed the button above the headboard.
"Did you call him?" she asked implying to Khalil.
Shaking his head, "Nope,"
"Good," she replied as she sat up.
But the door opened revealing Khalil. Kali looked at Zed who frantically shaking his head.
"Tua-eng, are you okay?" Khalil asked as he checked her.
"I'm not," she answered honestly.
It worried her husband and was about to speak but the doctors arrived. He bombarded them with questions.
"Teerak, calm down and let them speak," Kali said holding his hand.
"Right, sorry. Please go ahead," he said.
Dr. Callum discussed the condition of her heart.
"So, his heart turns out not compatible after all," Kali uttered.
"What are our options, Doc?" Khalil asked.
The doctor glanced at each other before looking at Kali.
"No," Kali said. She knew what they would say.
Khalil turned to her, "What do you mean, tua-eng?"
"They wanted me to kill our child," Kali told her husband.
Khalil was shocked and turned to the doctors.
"Both of you will die if we-
"I said no!" Kali raised her voice.
Khalil held her hands, "Calm down, love,"
"I am calm," Kali replied making him gulp nervously.
For the sake of the two doctors, he faces them, "Uhm, can you please leave us first to talk? We'll let you know if we come up with a
"My decision is final. I will keep my child even if it costs me my life," Kali intervened.
"Okay, so, you heard her. Please?" Khalil begged them with his eyes.
The doctors nodded and excused themselves leaving them. Khalil sighed. Kali is staring blankly at the wall.
"Tua-eng-
"They think I don't know what's best for my unborn child," she said.
"Kalina, I don't want to lose either of you-
