She smiled back and told Zed to pick Khalil up. They both headed out to their destinations.
While on the road, Kali noticed that she was being followed. She pressed something on her bike that send a signal to her team that will inform her situation.
Zed and Khalil arrived at the palace first. Khalil didn't know why he was invited there.
"Status," Zed stated when they entered the 'game room' of A-Team.
"She's been followed since she left the Empire," Spade answered.
"What's going on? Where's Kali?" Khalil asked.
"Just got U-turned and back on track to get here," Spade replied.
"She didn't get hurt, right?" Khalil asked with worry.
"Don't worry, she will not let that happen," Santa answered.
They are waiting for Kali to arrive. Khalil is the only worried one among them.
The door burst open and Khalil rushed toward it when he saw it was Kali. He hugs her tightly. Kali raises her eyebrows silently asking her team about her boyfriend's behavior.
"He's worried," Sparrow said.
"Are you okay?" Kali asked pulling away from the hug.
"I'm the one who should ask you that," Khalil replied.
"Oh, I'm perfectly fine though," she replied.
"That's a relief. By the way, why am I here? Does something happen to Mom?" he asked
Kali gave an assuring smile, "Your mom is okay, but before we visit her, let me change into something more comfortable,"
"Can I go with you?" Khalil asked. Worried is still evident on his face.
Kali released an amused chuckle, "We're inside of my lair, I'm safe here. But if that will ease your mind, then come with me," Kali stretches forth her hand and holds Khalil's hand.
They entered a big room. Kali told him to give her 5 minutes tops. Khalil is looking around the room. It was spacious but simple. He found a picture on the side table. It was a picture of Kali with her team in the countryside. They are full of mud and Kali had some on her face.
He smiled and look at the other frame. This time it was a family picture. Jan is already included. When he turned to the front of the bed, he noticed a lace curtain covering something. His curiosity leads him to see what's behind it.
He didn't notice that Kali is done and watching him. He took a deep breath and pulled down the rope that will pull up the curtain.
His breath hitch seeing the portrait.
