Simran and Angad's family traveled to Port Blair together with all their friends and family. At the airport, several cars were waiting to take them to the harbor. Several ferries were lined up for them to be taken to Havelock Island, where the wedding would be taking place.
All the guests were welcomed at the Taj Exotica Resort with garlands of orchids. Then welcome drinks were served while the fathers of the groom and the bride were working on the check in procedure.
"Mr Mehta, Mr Sethi.." Danish made an appearance and shook hands with both the fathers.
"All the rooms are ready with a bouquet and a box of chocolate just the way you had asked." He informed them.
Simran's father nodded. "Thank you for coming from London on my insistence, Danish. I feel so much better knowing that you're taking care of everything."
"That's what I am here for." Danish bowed his head a little. "I will make sure everything runs smoothly."
"We really appreciate it." Angad's father said.
"The check in is completed. You all should get fresh. I will have dinner served."
Danish then decided to meet the bride and groom. He had had meetings with them on the video calls, so he knew their faces. He scanned his eyes across the lobby and found them standing near the glass wall that gave the view of the swimming pool. Since it was night time, the place was lit up with string lights.
Simran and Angad were standing with Nayab, with her back facing in the direction of Danish. As Danish started to walk towards the couple, Nayab's phone rang.
"Guys, I have to take this." Nayab said. It was her mother's call. She must be calling to make sure she reached safely. Nayab found a door that opened in the swimming pool area and went there to find silence.
Danish reached the couple as soon as Nayab left.
"Hi, Angad..Simran."
"Danish, it is so good to finally meet you." Angad and Danish shook hands.
"I hope you like the hotel." Danish said.
"Yes," Simran looked around, "it is perfect."
"The dinner will be served soon now. You both should take rest then, a very busy and the most important week of your life starts tomorrow."
The couple looked at each other and smiled dreamily. The fact that they were getting married was sinking slowly. The lovestruck look on their faces was contagious, and Danish found himself smiling as well. It was a feeling he was too familiar with - the sense of joy that came with helping two people tie the knot. Oh, how he loved what he did!
Angad and Simran left to get to their respective rooms, but Danish watched how Simran first went towards the pool area and called another girl standing there. He wasn't able to see the face of the other woman, only her black, waist-length hair that was flowing around, thanks to the ocean breeze. Before she could turn her head, a worker of the catering team came and asked Danish to check the food before they started serving. Danish nodded and went with him. It was after he left, Simran and Nayab turned their heels and came back in the lobby. They collected their room key and took the lift.
