Danish’s alarm went off at 6 in the morning. He groaned lightly in his sleep before forcing his eyes to open. But his irritation wore off as soon as he realized where he was. In Nayab’s bed, with her in his arms. They were spooning, with her being the little spoon of course. He pressed his face in her hair some more to sniff her delicious smell.
“Ugh,” She moaned in irritation at the sound of the alarm clock and fidgeted in his arms.
He removed his arm from around her and turned to grab his phone from the nightstand. He shut the alarm and felt her go back to being peaceful. He returned back to his previous position to hold her close for some time. This morning was so beautiful that he felt like freezing time and never letting go of the woman beside him.
After savoring the moment for almost half-an-hour, he decided to get up. Or else he’d be late.
“Darling,” With his morning, raspy voice, he whispered in her ears. “I need to leave.”
She frowned at her sleep being disturbed.
“Nayab?” He called her slowly again.
“Danish, it's too early. Please.” She murmured and turned in his arms to face him. With her eyes still closed, she hugged him close.
He chuckled at her cuteness. She was definitely not a morning person.
“I need to leave.” He told her.
She sighed frustratedly, pulled back a little and opened her eyes. “What time is it?”
“6:30,” He said.
“Why do you need to leave this early?”
“I need to get back to the guest house and shower before reaching the venue at 8.” He told her.
She groaned in irritation before saying, “Fine. Go, leave me.”
He kissed her forehead before untangling himself and getting off the bed. She watched him as he walked inside the bathroom. After five minutes, she watched him come out.
She pouted sadly as he wore his shirt back, then his socks and shoes. Finally, he came to sit on the bed on her side.
“Don’t give me those puppy eyes, or else I will get back in the bed with you.” He said to her while caressing her right cheek with the back of her palm.
She was tempted to pull him back inside, but she also understood that he had work to do. “No, go to work. Make a couple’s wedding beautiful.”
He knew she was sad and was trying to hide it. “At what time do you get off your shift today?”
“I don’t have work today, I have classes.”
He frowned in confusion.
“As PG students, we mostly work at the hospital but some days, we also have to attend theory lectures which are done in the hospital itself by some senior doctors or consultants.”
