Nayab couldn’t help but inhale sharply at the sight in front of her. Was it actually him? Or was she dreaming?
He looked equally puzzled. His eyes widened in shock.
“Nayab,” He whispered under his breath.
“Danish,” She sighed.
“Danish?” This time, it was the man standing beside Danish who called him. That broke the trance and Danish turned to look at the man and woman standing with him. “We will discuss it with our families and let you know. Thank you for the dinner.” The guy brought his hand forward. Danish shook it before politely smiling at the lady with him. “I am looking forward to your call.”
The couple left in the car that the valet brought, and Danish’s focus was back on Nayab.
“What are you doing here?”
“What are you doing here?”
They both spoke at the same time, before going quiet again.
“Umm, sir, you car.” The valet interrupted them and handed the keys to Danish. He took it.
They stood there for a couple of more seconds, before he cleared his throat. “Are you here with someone?”
“Yes, I mean no.” She fumbled, “I mean I was with a friend. But he left, so yeah..”
“So do you have your car..” He trailed off.
“Yes, I do.” She said before correcting, “I mean I have a car. But not right now. It has gone for servicing actually.”
He smiled amusingly, while she cursed herself for behaving this stupidly in front of him.
“So can I drop you?” He asked softly, almost afraid that she’d say no, turn around and leave again.
But instead, she looked at him, smiled and nodded a yes.
Like an absolute gentleman he was, he opened the car door for her, waited till she settled in before closing it.
He walked over to the driver’s seat and got behind the wheel. They started driving into the streets of Mumbai.
“So, are you going to tell me now what you are doing here?” He asked.
She looked at him. “Post Graduation.”
“You finished your MBBS!”
“Last year. I am officially a doctor now.” She said smugly, but it just looked so cute and innocent in his eyes. He was proud of her.
“So what are you doing here?” She asked, because she was dying to know. It was a shock seeing him, but it was more of a shock seeing him in Mumbai.
“Business.” He replied.
