The Doctor gulped loudly as he thought about what he should say to the brunette. He couldn't just tell her the truth, especially since he didn't even know what had happened to her during their separation.

"You gave her a ring from one of your friends?" Martha asked the Doctor, confused over the whole situation and a bit jealous that the Doctor had given her friend something and not her. The Doctor has only given her a mint, nothing fancy like a ring.

"When I first met him, he gave me this ring." Amanda explained to Martha, handing over the ring for her to look at. "He never said anything about it, so I just always had it on since that day." she told her best friend, keeping an eye on the ring.

"It's beautiful!" Martha said as she twirled it around before giving it back to Amanda, who put it back on her finger without hesitation.

"Explain yourself Doc. Why did you give me your friend's ring?" Amanda asked him, crossing her arms. The Doctor sighed as he pressed a couple buttons to dematerialize the Tardis and let them float as he spoke to them.

"Remember how I told you guys Amora was unavailable and that is why she wasn't here with us." He said, getting closer to them. The girls nodded, urging him to continue.

"Ah, well I was not completely honest with you guys.... Amora is gone." He spoke, though he was a bit hesitant to say it to them as it wasn't the complete truth.

"...Gone? Gone how?" Amanda asked him, noticing how the Doctor was trying to avoid her eyes. When he finally faced her, sadness and guilt was clear in his eyes.

"She's dead." He said lowly, the girls almost missing it. They were saddened by his words and saw how much it truly affected him.

"And you decided to give Amanda her ring?" Martha questioned him, not understanding his logic. Wouldn't he want to keep the ring to himself?

Amanda and Martha shared a look with each other, having the same thought. "Why didn't you keep it for yourself? She would have wanted you to keep it and not me." Amanda asked, not understanding anything that was going on. She went to remove the ring once more, but he stopped her.

"When I saw you perform that day, I knew that she would have wanted you to have the ring." He said, caressing the ring on her finger, watching it shine.

"She would have loved to be on stage and perform so I thought that the best way to honor that desire was to give the ring to you. So that she could be on stage with you. You guys have the same energy and behaviors, so I thought it was perfect." He rushed out, not knowing what else to say. He couldn't flat out say that she was Amora or at least a part of her. He hadn't had the time to run any test on her, but he was hoping that by the end of their trip, he would be able to get some real answers.

"That doesn't quite make sense, but I'm going on a limb here and trust you Doc. We can talk about it later. I have more questions to ask and don't think that just because we got to hang out with Shakespeare, it doesn't mean we don't deserve another trip. I could barely breathe the air there." Amanda said before turning to Martha, giving her a look that they needed some alone time.

"Let's catch up while Doc finds us a place to go." she said as she latched herself to Martha, leading her away from the Doctor and the console room. The Doctor let out a sigh of relief at them leaving, before thinking of a few destinations he could take them. A perfect destination came to mind, a place where it could boost Amanda's memories and be great for Martha too.

<With Amanda and Martha>

"So." Amanda said as she looked at the many doors in front of them. "Which one should we go into?" she asked Martha, who shrugged.
