The next hour was spent with everybody rushing around the laboratory, focusing on their task as quickly as possible. Amanda stayed with the Doctor and Professor Yana, mostly worried over the old man that seemed to be getting really bad migraines very frequently.
Amanda was very impressed with the man, eager to know more about his machines and the science behind them, the professor was very intrigued with her as well, asking multiple questions about her culture and abilities. She enjoyed talking to him as she was reminded of her dear friend Harry whenever they looked each other in the eyes. Amanda even noticed that The Doctor and the professor were working quite will with each other, almost like they have worked together for years. The Doctor leaned over to one of the wires and sniffed it, earning a curious but disgusted look from Amanda.
"Is this?" the Doctor asked Yana, not even being able to finish as he was just amazed by Yana's brilliance. Yana looked at him and nodded.
"Yes, gluten extract. Binds the neutralino map together." Yana explained to him.
"That's food. You've built this system out of food and string and staples? Professor Yana, you're a genius." the Doctor complimented the man as Amanda looked at him with amazement.
"Says the man who made it work." Yana said, brushing off the compliment.
"Oh, it's easy coming in at the end, but you're stellar. This is, this is magnificent. And I don't often say that because, well, because of me." The Doctor said to him.
"Well, even my title is an affectation. There hasn't been such a thing as a university for over a thousand years. I've spent my life going from one refugee ship to another." Yana told them.
"If you'd been born in a different time, you'd be revered. I mean it. Throughout the galaxies. Like a God." Amanda told the man. "You are truly a genius mastermind Professor Yana." Amanda said, causing the man to puff up his chest a bit with pride.
"Oh, those damned galaxies. They had to go and collapse. Some admiration would have been nice. Yes, just a little, just once." Yana said, earning a sad look from Amanda when she noticed the pain in his eyes. It was hard not getting the validation you deserved, and in her eyes, Yana deserved every bit of validation for his work hard.
"Well, you've got it now." Amanda said to Yana, helping him disconnect two wires that he was having trouble with. Yana smiled at the woman, happy from her compliment and help.
The Doctor nodded, agreeing with Amanda. "But that footprint engine thing. You can't activate it from onboard. It's got to be from here. You're staying behind." The Doctor said as he motioned to the console by him.
"With Chantho. She won't leave without me. Simply refuses." Yana informed them.
"You'd give your life so they could fly." Amanda spoke. "I can understand why she is staying; this place became her home." she said as she remembered the desolate conglomerate that they had passed by.
"Oh, I think I'm a little too old for Utopia. Time I had some sleep." Yana told her softly, placing a hand on top of hers. The Doctor raised an eyebrow at this but shrugged it off, knowing that he had nothing to be worried about; especially since Amanda did not seem bothered by his action.
"Professor, tell the Doctor we've found his blue box." Atillo, the head guard, said over the intercom.
"Ah!" the Doctor cried happily at the news while Amanda grew excited as she had missed Gorgeous tremendously.
"Doctor? Amora?" Jack called out to them. They rushed to his side, with Yana following closely behind. They look at the monitor, as the Tardis came to view. Amanda squealed at the sight of the Tardis.
