(TW: Gore)

It seemed like within the last few months Wally had little to no hands-on to working one on one with test subjects. That had to be the most disturbing part of the "Rainbow Factory" as the outside world would "fail to see the advancements for the greater good". It was all towards the greater good, but as time went on (Y/n) found herself questioning what the greater good actually was.

Experiments ranged from nonliving to living things. The longer you were at the lab the longer an employee would grow numb to what happened within the walls. It was inhumane in the harshest definition possible, however, once they saw what it could do, things changed.

It was no different than experiments done throughout time and history. Many of the technological advances had only come due to experimenting in ways that seemed...unnatural.

Wally was out for blood, so to say. He always believed his best work came from the projects being done from start to finish with him as the primary person in charge of it. Over time though the employees had made their own system of going about these test subjects and what to do with them.

It came as a shock the day he entered the lab causing a hush around the room. Either eyes were on him or eyes dared not to look at him.

This didn't stop him from getting the information and team needed to start a brand new project. And what team would be completed without his assistant.

"(Y/n)," He stated reviewing the list of test subjects they had in storage. "When's the last time we worked together on something?"

"Cleaning up your office yesterday."

"In all seriousness."

She paused to think for a moment, "In about a year, really. You kind of...abandoned the project."

"Shelved it." He corrected politely. "We didn't have the items needed for that, and we still don't."

"Is that what you want to work on?"

"No, I don't, I have another project in mind." He observed several pictures. "We need to collect some data first."

"What kind of data?"

He looked over at her, a neutral expression on his face, "Death."

Something sunk in her chest for a brief moment. As she was just about to question it the words got caught in her throat.

"You," He held up several files in his hands staring down a female worker who looked terrified to be chosen. "Take these files and prepare the subjects for me in labs 2, 3, and 4, understand?"

The woman only nodded quickly and rushed off with the stack.

(Y/n) thought about the idea of death. Was Wally going to purposefully kill these things? Is that all he wanted? When test subjects died all data possible was recorded as to why, when, and how. It was seen as a waste to just...rid of them for no reason.

"Something wrong with 1?" She joked, only trying to ease her own conscience.

"No, just in case there were other experiments today." He answered truthfully. "(Y/n), I need you to record the data for me today. Do you still remember how to?"

"You say that as if I haven't still been collecting data this entire time." She raised a brow.

His lips curved into a small smirk, "I forgot I taught you to multitask."

"You taught me?!" She rolled her eyes, "I had to learn."

"Calm yourself, I'm only joking." He pat her shoulder, "Let's get prepared. I'm very eager."
