(Y/n) pulled the heavy vehicle upwards and onto its side with ease. She leaned against the bottom and looked over at Dr. Joy.
"Well, what do you think?"
"You're improving and quickly. I'm going to ask you to pick it up now, have you tried to yet?"
"No, but I'm up for the challenge."
She flipped the car back onto its wheels and approached the front. Since their few days in this room (Y/n) had gained a lot of confidence in their newly found strength. As if it was second nature she lifted up the front and slowly moved under readjusting her grip until she was in the middle. Slowly, after gaining the correct balance, she began to tilt the car into her hands, taking deep breaths as it was still heavy. Her body rose up as well as the car.
"This is incredible..." Joy's eyes widened as the car was lifted into the air.
"It's pretty cool right?"
"You can put it down now, that's enough."
She leaned the car backwards allowing it to fall on its side.
"And what is your current running speed?" Joy scratched down his notes on the clip board.
"Last I clocked in at was 50 miles per hour on the treadmill for 5 minutes."
He nodded, "Good good. We'll have to do another scan of your body at the end of the week. Your changes are starting to slow down it seems. It might be coming to a peak."
After taking a few notes he glanced up at her.
"How are you?"
"Great why?"
"No, like, how are you?"
(Y/n) paused for a moment, "I've been worse. I'm doing alright. Things seem to be pretty...normal."
"Except Wally."
"Except Wally." She confirmed. "I don't know what to make of it all."
"You already know how I feel about the situation. I won't say anymore. I'm just here to listen at this point." Joy knew from the bottom of his heart that she would never love him back, however, it's because he loved her that he was always there for her.
"And I appreciate that." She sighed. "He's been —"
"A lot?"
"I've worked with that man for so long and it's like there was a switch — I mean, genuinely smiling? Caring? What happened to the stone cold expressions, the lack of empathy, all of that nonsense."
"Listen, I still don't believe it either. I mean, maybe you did change him in a sense. Maybe he's really vulnerable. Everyone in This factory is afraid of him."
(Y/n) raised a brow, "Are you afraid of him?"
"I'm afraid what actions he may take that can hurt you, if that makes sense. I mean— when I sewed up your arms I was upset to say the least. You didn't deserve that."
"I know but —"
"If he wants to be a priority in your life he needs to start treating you like one and not some punching bag."
She became quiet for a moment, "I've spoken to him about it, I did, I won't put up with that."
"Let's just hope he actually listens and doesn't do whatever he wants." Joy sighed.
OoOoOoOoOoO
When (Y/n) finished her tasks early she often looked through the security cameras. Maybe it was strange to others, but it was a bit entertaining depending, lots of drama as always.
