(Y/n) woke up confused. As her eyes opened she saw white. It was the walls of the recovery room.

Her body was tired and weak and barely even able to keep her eyes open. She knew her placement though, she knew she was betrayed by Wally for his own selfish interests.

However with the lack of energy (Y/n) could only look around the room and think. It took a while before someone came to see her, and that happened to be Dr. Joy.

"If I wasn't so weak right now I'd strangle you." (Y/n) spoke softly, yet with as much anger as they could muster.

"(Y/n), you're awake!" He was a bit surprised.

"How could you, Joy...?"

He rushed to her side tears forming in his eyes, "(Y/n) oh god, I'm so sorry—"

"He threatened you, didn't he?"

"I didn't have a choice, I didn't. Please understand. I can't really get upset with you."

Wally wouldn't hesitate to hurt someone if they refused his orders. Dr. Joy didn't have the same relationship with him as she did.

"I want to know everything, Joy." She looked over at him, "It's the least you can do."

Joy sat down on the chair next to her bed and wiped his eyes. He took a deep breath before he began speaking.

Wally had set up the entire thing last second. It wasn't until he brought her body down to the medical unit that things went forward. Joy was forced to gather a team of people to attend the surgery. It took a total of 8 hours to complete due to the complications.

The word complications caught her attention.

"What do you mean complications? Did you get it out?"

"We did, it's completely gone." He assured, but still seemed panicked.

He clenched his fists on his lap while looking down.

"Something bad happened." He began, "Your blood pressure began dropping rapidly, things went from bad, to worse." Finally Joy looked up at her, "You died."

Her eyes widened at the word. Death, not something she would witness so soon.

"I'm here, obviously, so it worked out."

"We — Wally used —" It's like he couldn't get the word out of his mouth. "He—"

"He?"

"The serum, I'm sorry."

"...the Rainbow Serum..." She began raising her voice, "He used the fucking Rainbow Serum on me?"

It pained her for a moment, using so much energy.

"That's not even in its testing phase yet."

She wasn't just flabbergasted but she was insulted. The Rainbow Serum was the top project at the factory. Said to cure anything and everything with one drop. The method of obtaining it was cruel in and of itself.

The scariest part was not knowing what the results would be. It could potentially kill her in the end or worse.

"He thinks I'm a fucking test subject." (Y/n) shook her head a bit, "That fucker is as good as dead."

"I'm sorry,(Y/n)." He placed a hand on her arm. "You didn't deserve this at all. You know if I had the power I would have taken you far away from this place to make sure it didn't happen."

"You'd do that for me?"

"In this entire factory, you are the only sane one left. You don't deserve anything that's happened to you, regardless of what's happened here." He took a breath, "I will do everything in my power to help you. I will. I'm just — I'm sorry."
