HARRY STYLES
NOVEMBER 12TH, 2021I haven't seen Amelia in a week. As the father of our child, I am worried. I can't sleep soundly at night, thinking of the stress I know she's under. She still calls me every morning and every night, at least to let me know that she's alive. As her boyfriend, I completely understand the distance she has put between us.
It's nearing the end of her semester and her thesis presentation is coming up quickly. She has been spending the last week finishing up writing her conclusions on her research. She's also been putting final touches on her presentation. She doesn't have the actual presentation of her thesis until next month, but she has to present it for the first time at an academic fair. The way she described it to me was that it was the perfect excuse to practice and clean up any flaws, but also to get feedback from some of the faculty.
While I haven't seen Amelia in a week, I am going to be seeing Ruby today. The way they're so close, seeing one is almost like seeing the other. However, my day with Ruby isn't for personal gain. Rather, it's strictly professional.
Today is my interview with Ruby for the December Vogue issue where we finally get to sit down and talk about my collaboration with Gucci. I laugh to myself when I think about it, honestly. When I first heard of Ruby Wilson, I discovered a young junior editor at one of the largest fashion magazines in the world. She knew how to write an article but she also knew fashion. When I first spoke with Vogue, I told them what I wanted...
Someone who hasn't had the chance to work with one of the bigger fashion houses, but was capable enough to. Someone who knew fashion and the aspects of understanding clothes on a deeper level. When Ruby's resume and portfolio was given to me, I knew she was the one to write about my first large collection, plus my experimentation and love for clothing.
Little did I know that this girl would be the reason Amelia came into my life. Little did I know that this girl I picked from a piece of paper is the reason I have found the most happiness. Although my friendship with Ruby has been rocky, she is the reason I have so much to be thankful for. And I think she knows it too.
My stylist team came to my apartment early this morning, decorating me in the clothes that this whole article is for. I sipped on my coffee as Harry Lambert pointed around the room full of clothing racks and bright lights. Apparently, Ruby would have a photographer with her to get photos of me in the clothes but also using my home as the backdrop.
When Ruby and I talked over the phone yesterday, the concept in her mind was that not only did the clothes come from mine and the head of Gucci's ideas but also how my personal life played a role in the ideas. At first I was a bit skeptical about bringing someone into my home and if anyone other than Ruby was writing the piece, I would immediately say no. Yet, I trust Ruby and I like the idea.
Lambert distracts me from my thoughts, waving two open garment bags in front of me. "What's on your mind, H? I've been asking for the last minute which outfit you want to do the interview in?"
