Blue laughed as my card declined.
I elbowed him hard while giving the tired cashier at McDonald's an apologetic smile.

"Should I pay?" Blue asked while raising an eyebrow, as he grabbed some money from his pockets.

"Wel it was your idea to grab food." I huffed, not appreciating that I had forgotten my situation.

"It was, it was." Blue agreed quickly while still chuckling slightly as he payed the cashier. "On the go please." He told her.

"Coming right up." The monotone voice of the cashier sounded as she clicked a button on the screen.

"On the go?" I asked, "Where do you want to go?"

"There's an abandoned building, not a spooky one, but it's got a place I sometimes... well, a lot of times, hang out." Blue explained, "I figured you'd like a nice place to sit.
While he talked my phone buzzed. Strange thing to happen, considering it didn't notify me about nearly everything.

"Alright then." I mumbled, before grabbing my phone.
My eyes widened, "Oh shit." Left my mouth before I could think about it.

"What?" Blue frowned in concern.

"My mom texted me." I said nervously as I stepped closer to show him the strange text, "She literally asked me to bring milk if I was gone anyway."

Blue let out a laugh, "Your parents sound amazing to have."
Letting out my own laugh I stepped back, knowing he didn't know they were gone all day and sometimes even night.

"241" the cashier called out. We were the only one there, so Blue walked up to her without even checking the number.

"Thanks." He said before walking back to the street. It was calmer than in the middle of the day, but still loads of people tried to get somewhere.

Blue ended up reaching an alley.
"Spooky." I remarked, remembering this would be the part where the innocent little girl gets killed.

"Oh, does it look like I'm a serial killer again?" Blue asked slightly panicked, stopping in his tracks.

"N-no..!" I laughed. Blue just sighed and pulled the hood I still had on my head further down teasingly.

Blue got to a ladder, going up to a fire escape.
"So, you know how to climb, right?" Blue asked me before gesturing towards the rickety ladder, "This is the easy part."

I shrugged, "Shouldn't be to hard." Considering I successfully managed to climbed a tree.
Blue gestured for me to go first, probably so he could see when I did something stupid or was about to fall or whatever. We climbed up ladder by ladder before Blue told me to stop climbing, "We go this way." He climbed up the last bit up to the iron barred floor of the escape. "Thought that window." He pointed at the opposite window.

I looked to see an easy way to climb in, but then Blue started to explain a very safe way.
Smiling I let him struggle to find new ways to make it more and more safe. It was an amusing sight. The moonlight lit his face, even though there was shadow, his face was gentle as far as I could see.
His eyes sometimes looked at me, probably to see wether I was falling asleep or not.

"Okay, so just follow my step." Blue started climbing, setting his foot in two extra spots. I could see he was used to a different way to climb.

"Right." I nodded thoughtfully, considering to mess with him a little. Blue finally climbed trough the window before poking his head out of it to help me out.
I grabbed where he told me very specifically to hold onto as loads of different things were rusty and dying.
With a jump I didn't use the extra steps and swung my feet towards the window.
"Boo." I smiled as he looked absolutely done.

"You could have said you didn't need the long as explanation." He said as he helped me inside.

"No, no," I smiled teasingly, "Looked like you were heaving fun."

"A-are you messing with me?" Blue deadpanned as he adjusted his mask.

I laughed slightly before my eyes turned to the place. With loads of green colours we were standing inside what looked like a very comfortable living room type of thing.
There was a couch, hanging lights, a big net with things on top of it so you could see it while walking underneath it... all kinds of ways had been used to make the place more and more like a home despite the place being inside a run down building. Above the couch I noticed a painting... I think it was the painting.
Lastly I noticed the slight glow of green which, in the dark of night, created a bit of a glow on everything.

"It's pretty." I smiled before getting an idea, "Woud you hate it if I brought some shit to paint here?"

Stepping lightly closer he said, "I wouldn't mind, just don't die on your way here." Again he pulled my hood over my face teasingly.

Realising how close we stood to each other I quickly yeeted the idea of it out of my head, "I—I won't." I tried hide the stutter, I did not need that as I felt awkward at the realisation.

"You okay?" Blue asked softly as he reached up his hand to slightly touch my hair.

Stepping back I really hoped my face wasn't red like a tomato, "Yep." I pointed at the net, "What's the story behind that?"

Blue's eyes sparkled as the green glow lit up his hood and mask.
"Let's sit down first." He referred to the long time we had been standing and talking and what not.
A look of nostalgia took over while he explained about a few objects he had put there while we sat on the couch.
Not having meant to, but not minding the fact that, I realised I had made him explain more about himself.
The food was gone and I leaned back while listening to the comforting stories,

"That one's a really old one, back when I still lived with my parents," Blue looked at a stuffed toy, a lion, "I remember taking it everywhere, I even had it on the day they died." His eyes were sad when I looked back at him.

"I'm sorry." I said softly.

Blue shrugged, "They were dickheads as far as I can remember, I didn't need them anyway." He looked like he was more like, convincing himself to believe that. I got the feeling like someone wanted him to believe that more than himself wanted to as he still had a lingering sad look on his face.

A silence fell over us and I felt his arm around my shoulder.
If it were uncomfortable I would have complained, but I was alright with it.

"Did you put everything here?" I then asked. It would be kinda strange to bring a couch up to those stairs.

"Kinda, the big things were already here, the net as well." Blue explained softly.

"Nice." I remarked equally soft, not wanting to disturb the comfortable silence which then continued.

Then all of a sudden the strangest thing happened.

Soft breathing was heard in that exact way a sleeping person breathed.
"Blue?" I asked after a while, I was starting to get bored of the silence. Blue of course, didn't reply.
Smiling I carefully got up and grabbed a blanket from the couch, putting it over him.
I figured I should just let him sleep, sometimes it was good to sleep, right?

While stepping back I remembered him saying he had insomnia. He hadn't seemed to be joking or sarcastic, even tough the way he said it was casual. Looking at him he was fast asleep, maybe he was improving...?
I smiled at the idea before making my way to the window, leaving Blue to the land of the dreams.
