"Let me guess, you stayed up all night to draw?" One of my friends said while she gave me a disapproving look. Her long black hair fell over her shoulders and round glasses rested on her nose. This was Amber, named after her amber coloured eyes.
We sat in class. Mathematics was just boring, so we always ended up chatting trough the class.
"It was nice to stay up, sadly it's the last drawing of the challenge." I replied, dreamily thinking about what to add and what to change about what I had so far.
"No way, can I see it?" Another friend asked, excitement in her bright blue eyes. She had short blonde hair and usually wore very good looking outfits, especially after I explained her colour theory and we proceeded to stay up all night to research it. This was Evelin, or Lin as we nicknamed her, actually, we called her a lot of nicknames.
"It ended up being a huge experiment, more than anything, so it's not the perfect thing." I told her before the teacher called my name to make me shut up.
"How about we hang out this afternoon?" Evelin whispered, "I'm free."
Amber got excited, "How about we go to the party then?"
As they started planning on going to the party I got ready to decline just that. I was fine with hanging out with them, but not at a noisy party. Once was enough... trust me.
"I can't go to a party, I mean, you guys can go." I looked away as it felt like their eyes burned into my head in hatred, "I'm sure you guys'll have fun."
"That's fine, I forgot how you didn't like the crowds." Amber apologised. I tried reassuring myself that they weren't mad at me for declining.
"You're quiet." Evelin commented and I looked back at them, an apology leaving my mouth automatically.
As you can see, they weren't actually mad. As you can also see, I was struggling to see this as I stared down at my books.
"I zoned out I guess." I found an excuse, "We can still hang out, I'm fine with that."
"Have I already told you guys about the glow in the dark dinosaurs?" Evelin found a new subject.
And so we hung out at my place. We ended up watching a show on Netflix while eating pizza. That was when I fell asleep on the couch.
The next day I woke up, still on the couch but with a blanket and an alarm set on my phone. Sometimes it was useful when your friends knew your password, Amber must've taken action so I wouldn't be late for school.
After school I started finishing the last perspective drawing. I grabbed crayons, paints, alcohol based markers, coloured pencils and different papers. Putting it in a bag I thought of dinner and ended up taking some snacks as wel.
On the rooftop I made sure to put everything near the marked spot, where I always sat for the perspective drawings.
It was still light outside, so I started making multiple sketches on the different papers, still indecisive of what materials to use eventually.
While the sun started setting I grabbed my first snack, pausing and organising the different stuff that lay around on the pavement.
"Didn't expect to see you here." A voice spoke up.
Looking up I found the figure, this time wearing a different hoodie but the same mask.
"Hi." I mumbled. I crumbled up the wrapper of my snack and got ready to start with some line art.
"I don't know if I like to see you here yet." The soft voice stared at the edge, or maybe at the ground, the distance made it hard to tell.
"Well... I got dinner if you want." I gestured to the snacks I had in my bag. "To repay, I mean."

Up on that rooftop
