When I got back home from hanging out with Blue at the park, I fell on my bed and realised just how tired I was. Of course I had to check my texts first.
Amber had texted me a picture of her dog and Evelin needed to copy my homework. Both equally important.
After replying I put down my phone and almost fell asleep, until I just couldn't get the sight from the tree out of my head.
Sighing in frustration I willed myself to get up and guess what? I started making a few sketches to get the idea down.
Then the sun appeared while I stood with two brushes in my hands and different colours of paint on my shirt.
"Fuck." I looked at my phone, "I'm going to be late for school!" I realised.
Dropping what I was doing (with care) I changed into better clothes, grabbed my bag and headed out.
When I got there Amber laughed, "What were you painting?" First period was just over, so I followed her to second.
Looking at her confused she took a picture of me and showed me some small paint splatters on my face.
Cursing I walked to the bathroom to wash it off.
"Having your day?" Amber leaned against the wall as I cleaned my face.
"No..." I sulked, "I mean, I was having a great time, but now there's paint on my face and I got late."
"So... what were you painting? I'm curious." Amber asked.
"Blue showed me this spot that had a good view over some brightly lit up street with amazing colours. I think it's the street with the old arcade we used to go to." I got excited again, "When I got home I just couldn't sleep so I started painting."
"Right..." Amber was sceptical as she looked rather thoughtful, "Soooo... this Blue guy, how long've you known him?"
"A week or two?" I guessed, Amber didn't look anymore reassured, "He's a nice guy, stop worrying." I told her.
"I'm not worrying about whether he's nice or not. I'm just saying, he could be a total... murderer, or something." Amber pushed, "I-I don't want you to turn up dead in some shady alley, okay?"
I rolled my eyes, "I'll watch out, just trust me, I'm not a naïve fourteen year old anymore."
Amber smiled sheepishly, "I guess not, let's just head to class."
Nodding I wiped my face one last time before following Amber once again.
We were late, but the teacher didn't mention it as he was tired of life.
At lunch Anna walked up to us. I introduced her and Evelin and Amber immediately started chatting like they were besties already.
"What do you want to do after school?" Amber asked, "After you graduate, I mean."
"Well... I was thinking about programming," Anna shrugged as if not really caring about it, "but it's really hard and I'm bad at keeping my grades up."
"Programming..." Evelin thought about it, "What can you do after studying that?"
"Programming games, making websites and different software, stuff like that." Anna explained. "What about you guys?"
"I don't know yet, but Evelin wants to design clothes." Amber pointed at me. "She's going to be an artist."
Anna smiled, "That's sounds cool, what kind of art?" She asked me.
"I was thinking about cartoons, animations and stuff, but advertisements might be more reliable as income." I explained. That was about the first time I spoke up after introducing Anna, I realised. Was I that tired today?
"Wow, you know, you could work at Disney!" Anna said excitedly, "Then we can watch the movies you make!"
I chuckled, I knew how improbable that was so I just said, "I'm not that good at art—"
