Stiles knew that he shouldn't be here. If the pack or his dad knew, they'd freak out. But he wasn't stupid. He knew not to drink anything. All he needed was a distraction. He turned down any sweet guy who tried to buy him a drink. He didn't come here for a date. The blond in the back eying him is what Stiles wanted.

He made eye contact and made sure to give him a slow once-over before meeting his eyes again. The blond smiled and made his way toward Stiles.

"Hey, gorgeous, wanna dance?" The man asked, his eyes scanning Stiles like a hungry dog eying a steak.

Finally, Stiles thought as he pushed off the bar. "Absolutely."

He was strong under Stiles' touch, all muscle. His hands were strong but gentle as they pulled Stiles in close to him. Stiles tried to ignore how wrong this felt. He had gotten so used to Derek's touch that this felt foreign. Like he was doing something wrong. He really wanted a drink, but he didn't trust any drink. His eyes scanned the room briefly. Was he here now? Was he currently poisoning his next victim? Stiles hated that he didn't know.

The music was loud in his ears but not nearly as loud as his heartbeat as the blond slid a hand down his back and to his ass, pulling him in even closer. There was no space between them now. Stiles let himself be held, despite how wrong it felt. He should have had a bit more to drink before he left the house.

"You look bored, wanna get out of here?" The man asked, his lips brushing Stiles' ear.

Stiles smiled before grabbing the man's hands and pulling him towards the exit. That didn't take long.

Derek pushed open the door to the sheriff's station. He had a tray of coffee's in his hand from the twenty-four-hour diner down the road.

"Hale." Parrish gave him a nod. "Sheriff is in his office.

"Thanks." Derek set a cup of coffee down in front of him.

Parrish lit up and grabbed for the drink eagerly.

"Kai here?" Derek asked, his eyes scanning the station.

"Nah, he's out," Parrish answered, taking a sip of the coffee.

Derek's chest dropped with relief. He had hoped he wouldn't be here. It would be weird to do what he was about to do with him in the other room.

He set a coffee in front of two other deputies before he reached Noah's door.

"Derek," Noah said with a surprised smile.

"Got a second?" Derek asked, hesitating in the doorway. He felt bad for being here, but he trusted Noah, and he needed reassurance.

"For you? Absolutely," Noah said, closing the file in front of him, giving Derek his full attention.

Derek couldn't help but smile as he pulled the door closed behind him and set the last coffee in front of Noah.

"Is everything alright?"

The concern warmed Derek's heart. Noah had always treated him almost like a son. It was something that had unsettled Derek at first, but he'd grown to love the affectionate shoulder squeezes and the gentle reprimands to 'get some rest'. It was something Derek yearned for. That familial feeling he had almost forgotten.

"I was just wondering if you know anything about Kai Parker?" He asked, sitting in the plastic chair in front of the desk.

Noah sat back and squinted at Derek like he was trying to read him. It reminded Derek so much of Stiles that his chest ached.
