ripple effect // haobin

nap time

a couple of days had passed since the boys had settled down as Jia's new fathers. the last few days had been full of lots of shopping and lots of crying, but not by who you would've expected it to be. hanbin had been dealing with a lot with the baby, he hadn't been able to get much rest and even when he did fall asleep his dreams were full of worries about if the baby was okay or not. 

hao hadn't taken Jia from hanbin yet as he was still attending university full time and would get busy with dance practices at night time. when both were busy hanbin's mom would handle jia for them. but with summer break coming upon them both the two would finally be able to have a fair handle on the girl. 

hao planned to surprise hanbin with some more strawberries to show gratitude for how well he has been handling jia while he isn't available. he made sure to get more than 6 this time because last time it hadn't been enough for the strawberry-loving man. it had only been a few more days with jia and hanbin but hao had somehow found a way to love them like his own family. hao made sure to check in on hanbin and make sure he had all he needed for jia, and to make sure he hadn't lost his mind (lol).. 

hao made his way over to the elevator of the apartment building, at this point the front desk lady knew him fairly well. with a small wave he greeted the lady and pressed the up button waiting for the elevator to arrive.

he made his way into the elevator with the larger blue box that was wrapped similarly to the first box he had gotten hanbin. As the elevator reached the floor he walked out and knocked on the door. "it's open!" he heard hanbin yell, he must be preoccupied with Jia. hao opened the door to see hanbin and jia both on the ground, jia pulling his hair lightly as he winced in pain. "sung jia, i did not teach you to be mean to your daddy" hanbin laughed as the girl pulled harder, "i need some help here" he said looking at hao. hao rushed over and picked the girl up freeing hanbin's hair. "if i told you how long she had been doing that you'd make fun of me" hanbin sighed. "how long, 2 minutes?" hao joked, "no more like 20, i've been trying to put her down for a nap but she just loves my hair", "i mean who wouldn't it's fluffy and cute" hao said playing with it. 

hanbin felt a blush rise across his face, even when it was slight compliments he still loved to hear them from hao. hao looked up at hanbin's face and giggled, "oh im sorry did i make you anxious?", "no, no, is that a line from love killa, really hao" he shrugged. "what i thought it was funny" hao pouted as hanbin put his arm around his shoulders, "i suppose it was funny" he said kindly. the two were interrupted by a loud baby cry and turned around as fast as they possibly could. jia had been left on the couch where hao had put her down, lifting her arms as if she wanted one of them to pick her up. "come here baby girl" hanbin picked her up and walked over to hao again. the two had grown a lot closer since adopting Jia, they would find themselves a bit affectionate at times but something always ruined the moment. 

"im so tired.." hanbin sighed as he rocked jia back and fourth. "i can imagine hanbin-ah it's a lot to take care of a baby, i'm sorry i've been so busy" hao sighed. he had felt bad, he could tell hanbin was drained and felt it was his fault for not being able to take jia for some time. "its okay, you're here now, maybe we can try to put her down for a nap, and get some rest ourselves". "that sounds like a good idea" he nodded and walked towards jia's room. hanbin placed her lightly into the crib turning on her toy mobile and grabbing the baby camera. the two left jia to lay down, she usually was good about putting herself to sleep but they made sure to grab the camera just in case. 

hanbin walked to his room and plopped down on the bed, hao following but not sitting. "it's okay if you sit, i don't mind" hanbin smiled. hao sat lightly onto the bed stiff and making sure not to move too much. "hao-ge don't act like you aren't the slightest bit comfortable with me" he joked and sat up next to him. "i know your tired, and so am i, so lets just take a nap" he brought to their attention. "okay should i sleep on the floor?" hao asked lightly. "no, you can sleep up here if you'd like" he said. hao nodded in agreement and laid down in the bed, making sure to keep the distance between the two. 

hanbin slowly fell asleep and hao followed after. the two weren't as close as they could be but Jia forced them to grow closer quickly.

hao's eyes opened slowly forgetting where he was for a second, he looked over and realized he was much closer to hanbin then he had been when he fell asleep originally. so close that he was in the boy's arms and hanbin had cuddled into him. the younger was still asleep, and hao couldn't budge his way out of the boy's tight hold. he let himself relax and close his eyes again as he knew hanbin would wake up eventually and probably freak out himself.

hanbin soon woke up rubbing his eyes and feeling someone's hair close to his chest, and a heaviness in his arms. he looked over to see zhang hao snuggled into his chest sleeping soundly. he smiled, it didn't bother him, it almost seemed like the two slept better in each other's arms. he looked at the monitor to see a sleeping jia as well.

"two cuties" he said, not realizing hao had woken up and heard what he had just said.
