it was hard to ignore the elephant in the room, hanbin had been doing as much as he could to try and avoid how he was feeling about the situation. hao would allow himself to be upset but never in front of hanbin. he didn't want the other to think that he didn't care, but he wasn't sure when he wanted to talk about what had happened.
the night jia left something died in hanbin. his mood hadn't returned back to his normal self since the girl had left. he pushed through all he had to do with hopes that it would get easier as time went on, but it didn't. it wasn't only a damper on his mood, but his relationship with hao. the two hadn't been talking as much as before, and hao wasn't coming around as often anymore. hanbin didn't want to lose hao as well, he just hadn't been okay enough to talk about it, but if he wanted to keep hao things needed to change.
as he finished up his junior dance classes he pulled out his phone and opened up messenger clicking on hao's contact.
shb: hey. i was wondering if we could talk.
he sent the message and closed his phone, he wanted hao to be able to talk about it all with him tonight, but he wasn't sure if hao was going to be ready to discuss anything.
zhao: yeah, ill meet u at ur place in 20
hanbin received the message as he closed up the dance studio for the night. looking at his phone with a light smile, happy to see the boy's message.
shb: okay, see u then
he quickly texted grabbing his car keys and unlocking the car, plopping himself into the driver's seat as he began down the road.
hao wasn't sure what hanbin had wanted to talk about but he knew that it was something important. he was hoping it was finally about jia, the two hadn't been the same since that night, he couldn't lie he missed hanbin, a lot.
hanbin arrived at his apartment, opening the door to the dark room. turning on his light he walked over to grab two glasses setting them down at the counter. he heard the light knock on his door, walking over he opened it to reveal hao. "hi" he spoke lightly guiding the boy into the apartment. "hey" hao replied, setting his things down and taking a seat at the counter.
"i know it's been stressful for the both of us recently, and i know things have died down quite a bit, but just because shes gone doesn't mean you have to go too you know" hanbin began, hao listening and nodding.
"it's hard enough losing her, i dont want to lose you too" he continued rubbing the boys back. "i know hanbin-ah, i miss being here with you, i miss the way it was more but change is inevitable" he sighed. hanbin poured them both a glass of wine to sip on, maybe it would ease the situation.
hao had been a couple glasses in alongside hanbin, the two becoming a bit tipsy. hanbin had seen hao intoxicated before, but hao hadn't ever seen hanbin. hanbin was the kind of drunk that was severly lovey, needed lots of attention, and wanted to hug anyone in the room. hao was the quiet but calm drunk, the drinks would allow for his anxiety to soothe, and allow for him to properly relax for once. they did always say the first two drinks didn't count for people with anxiety because it would just act as a calming medicine.
hanbin rested his head on hao's shoulder, allowing for himself to sink his body weight into the boy. "let's go lay down" he suggested, hao agreeing as his head had been a bit spinny from the drinks. hanbin held hao's hand all the way to the room, allowing for hao to lay down first, then cuddling himself into the boys embrace. usually hanbin wouldn't be the little spoon of the situation, but tonight he just wanted to be held. hao held him tight, he had missed hanbin. even though this didn't fix anything, it resolved the tension between the two. they had eachother, even if it didn't feel like they did.
things would be okay, maybe not forever, but for tonight everything was okay.
