This is a sequel to my story, Girl Crush. Eddie did it! '86 was indeed his year! He graduated and now him and Dani are headed off on their grand adventure for the summer. They are heading west in his van and hitting all kinds of stops along the way...
Eddie watched Dani's eyes, wide and excited, as she surveyed all of her options in the case. He had found a bakery in Des Moines, Iowa, and they were starting off their day with breakfast. He knew how much his girl loved a breakfast pastry. Dani would pick donuts, muffins, and cinnamon rolls over just about any other option for breakfast. French toast, waffles, and pancakes were a close second. Dani loved starting her day with a full on carb overload.

"Umm, can I get a latte and a cinnamon...no, wait..." Dani paused, pressing the pad of her finger to her lips. They had been doing this for the last fifteen minutes as she struggled to choose which pastry item to go for. "I mean, I definitely want the latte, but maybe I'll go for a chocolate...no, a jam...no."
Eddie pressed his lips together, fighting down the laugh
that was bubbling up inside him. Dani was so damn cute. He loved every little quirky thing about her, including her inability to choose which sugary breakfast treat she wanted because she loved them all.
"Alright," he said, stepping up to help her out. "Can we get her latte, a black coffee, a cinnamon roll, a pecan pinwheel, a chocolate chip muffin, and a jam donut?"
"Eddie, I don't need all those things," Dani protested. "I'm trying to pick. It's just hard."
Smiling, he kissed her cheek. "I see that it's hard. That's why I am getting one of each thing you were eyeballing. You can have a few bites of each and so can I. It will be like a breakfast pastry buffet."
"Have I told you how amazing you are?" she asked, tilting her head and grinning up at him.
"Not today," he replied, "and I never get tired of hearing it so feel free to say it whenever and however much you want."
Pulling out his wallet, he paid for their breakfast. The two of them balanced everything in their hands as they made their way outside to a small patio area. It was a perfect day. The sun was shining, the sky was a brilliant blue with puffy white clouds dotted here and there, and the air was warm with a slight breeze that was just perfect enough to keep you cool.
Dani reached for the pecan pinwheel, picking off a piece and popping it in her mouth. Her eyes rolled back with pleasure, a deep moan of delight rising out of her chest and Eddie shifted in his seat. Damn this girl and her happy food noises. Watching Dani eat was like an orgasmic experience half the time.
"This is so good," she told him, pulling off another hunk and holding it out to him. "Try it. Seriously. It's perfectly sweet and sticky and..." Dani's words cut off as Eddie not only ate the piece of pastry but then pulled her fingers into his mouth, his tongue taking its time cleaning off every trace of sticky brown sugar off her skin.
Eddie opened his eyes, grinning like the Cheshire Cat when he saw Dani's eyes wide, her jaw dropped so low he was surprised it wasn't hitting the table. He noticed the subtle way she squeezed her legs together and he sat back, smirking, delighting in his ability to fluster her.
