Chapter 8

Useless

When I entered law school and got myself a job in a firm as a lawyer's assistant, my parent's planned totally vanished from my mind. Not until today...

My twin and I planned to watch a movie, because it is the only day that I got to have a free time for something that is not work related or law school related.

And seeing her happy face reminded me of my parent's unsaid plan. It's been months and I've been busy with school and work, my twin is exploring before planning to study again, while our parents didn't tell us anything about that plan.

Now, I don't even know if I should believe what I heard or maybe they didn't pursue that plan anymore.

"I miss you" she immediately stated when she sat in front of me. I waited for her at the coffeeshop inside the mall. I planned to treat her, although she don't need it but I just want to. Plus, I didn't have time to treat her or any of my family when I received my first salary. My parents didn't need a share of that and they just told me to use it for myself and for my future.

They also allowed us to live in our condo now. We have our condo ever since we graduated college, but then we just live there when mom and dad decided to stay in Cebu to handle the business. Although, they told us to visit the mansion every week and sleep there at least, every weekend.

"Your unit is technically in front of mine" I stated and gave her the coffee I ordered for her.

"Yeah, but you just stayed in your unit to just sleep, eat, bath, then go out again. Whenever I knocked, no one is answering me anymore. And for sure whenever you have a free time, I was exploring the Philippines" she explained and I just shrugged.

"At least we saw each other now" she just chuckled.

"Thank you kasi may free time ka na kasabay din ng rest time ko. Bukas pupunta akong Palawan, tapos next week sa Batanes. That will be my last place to visit before I study and work, the same thing you are doing right now" she stated and just listened to her plans.

Ever since I started working, I didn't use mom and dad's money anymore. I am trying my best to handle my own money and expenses and that's the main reason why my twin wanted to work as well. But even if I am working now, dad still gave us money. And mom gave Fate the money to explore.

"Are you sure about that? Work and school are not easy to juggle actually" I stated to warn her, she can still do it if she wants to but I don't want her to do it without thinking about it clearly.

"Yup, I knew I can do it, plus I've been travelling for months now and just resting at the unit if I want too. I need to earn and study now. I want to feel independent in everything too, although dad will still give us money for emergency" she answered and I nod, agreeing on her decision.

She's really into maturity era this past few days, she said that she's been travelling for months and she wants to do something else now. I never thought that she will also do what I am doing now, studying and working. And dating the guy she's into.

I just hope that dad won't really pursue that plan if it's still on his mind. I don't want that for my twin, because I knew her. And if I can prevent that plan to happen, then I will.

After we finished our coffee, we went shopping to a lot of luxurious brands that we both wanted.

"Like this?" I asked her when I saw a dress that she's been eyeing lately. She just don't want to buy this because she said it's unpractical, knowing that she's just using our parent's money until now. Well, it cost more than a thousand dollars.
