"You sure you don't want me to call a relief in I can still drop Jasmine off at Cindy's so you can a full 24 hours to rest" Matt said
"Matt I'm fine it probably just a cold" Sylvie said
Sylvie had been feeling off for the past few days she just put it down to a cold today she clammy and hot.
"Okay but if you fee worse tell me and I call a relief in" Matt said
The two of them pulled up at the firehouse after dropping Jasmine off Matt found Shay in the locker room.
"Hey Shay do me a favor keep an eye on Sylvie today she not been the last few days and insisted on coming into work today keeps saying it just a cold let me know if she get worse" Matt said
"Yeah of course" Shay said
Ambo was at Med dropping off a paient Sylvie had gotten increasingly worse since this morning she now had a pain in her abdomen like a stabbing. On the way back from Med Shay hurt Sylvie winces
"You know you doing a terrible job at showing your not in pain" Shay said
"I have been get worse since this morning" Sylvie said
"You do a fever and the pain all on your right side" Shay said
"Like a stabbing" Sylvie said
"Well it looks like you have appendicitis let turn around get you to Med I ring ahead and after that I'll call Matt" Shay said
Shay rang ahead and Med made some room for a VIP after that Shay rang Matt once a Med.
"Hey Maggie" Shay said
"Hey put Sylvie in treatment 2 Dr Halstead will be in soon" Maggie said
Shay helped Sylvie into treatment room 2 she then rang Matt.
"Hey Shay what's up" Matt asked
"Hi Casey look Sylvie at Med we think she as appendicitis Dr Halstead with her now" Shay said
"Okay thank you i go tell Chief and I been there in 10 minutes can you stay with her until I arrive" Matt said
"Yes of course" Shay said
Matt made a beeline for Boden office.
"Hey Chief you have a minute" Matt asked
"Yes Casey come in what can I do for you" Boden asked
"Well Sylvie at Med with possible appendicitis do you mind if go" Matt said
"Go I cover truck until a relief officer gets here and I'll take 61 out of service until a relief paramedic can get here go be with your wife" Boden said
Matt headed to his car and straight to Med.
"Right Sylvie it seems you partners diagnosis was correct you do have appendicitis we get you fixed up" Dr Halstead said
Matt arrived and Maggie showed him to where Sylvie was.
"Hey Matt" Sylvie said
"Hey Sylvie so Will what the diagnosis" Matt asked
"Sylvie had appendicitis it didn't burst so I a straightforward extraction I have paged the general surgery team they on their way" Dr Halstead said
"Thanks Will don't worry baby we get you fixed up" Matt said
"I know Will are they any forms me or Matt need to fill out" Sylvie said
"Just a consent form" Dr Halstead said
Sylvie signed the consent form and was taken up to surgery Matt waited in the surgical waiting area.
15 minutes later
Dr Halstead came out.
"Hi Matt so Sylvie out of surgery they removed her appendix's she now in recovery and you can sit with her and wait for her to wake up" Dr Halstead said
"Thanks Will" Matt said
"I made sure she got the best recovery room" Dr Halstead said
Matt followed Will to Sylvie room he sat on the chair next to Sylvie bed he updated everyone at 51 that Sylvie was out if surgery and doing well.
A few hours later
Matt was waking for his wife to wake up he was made aware that she would be drowsy but she was looking at a 3 day stay in hospital 2 weeks off work to recover. Matt was sitting on the chair next to Sylvie bed when she opened her eyes.
"Hey you're awake" Matt said
"Yeah I'm feeling better" Sylvie said
"That's good Dr Halstead said you should be discharged in a few days but I will be a few weeks before you can back to work I make sure you don't lift a finger Cindy got Jasmine she looking after her until your out of here" Matt said
"Thanks I'm tried" Sylvie said
"Go back to sleep baby I'll be here" Matt said
Sylvie when back to sleep for awhile to shake off the drowsyness she had she was feeling better she had no idea that she had appendicitis she only realise when she had the stabbing pain on her right side it was Shay who knew and got her to Med ASAP.
3 Days later
Sylvie had been in hospital for a few days Dr Halstead was discharging her today she was well enough to go home but not well enough to go to work she would be off for a few weeks Matt decided to take some Furlough so he could look after her and Jasmine.
When Sylvie got home she was tried and headed straight to bed Matt out Jasmine down for her nap and cooked dinner he was the chief in family.
