It had been a few weeks since Shay deaths everyone was starting to go back to there normal lives at 51 but for Sylvie however it was different she been taking some furlough she had made PIC on 61 but today was her shift back without Shay.
Matt and Sylvie had got into a routine with Jasmine and Juliette as it was shift day they would dropping the kinds off a the Herrmann's.
"Matt we really need to find a nanny we can't keeping dumping Jasmine and Juliette on Cindy" Sylvie said
"I know but the people we have interviewed so far are not experienced" Matt said
"Yeah I know come on we better get going or we will be late" Sylvie said
The two of them headed for work but when Sylvie walked into the firehouse she realised her best friend was no longer there.
She had a bit of a moment before going in but new a new paramedic would be joining her today.
"You okay hon" Matt asked
"Yeah just had abit of moment" Sylvie said
"Look if it gets to much today feel free to come to my office" Matt said
"Thank i Need to see Boden because the new paramedic starts today" Sylvie said
Sylvie made her way to the chief office to meet Emily Foster
"Ah Brett come in meet Emily Foster your new Paramedic on 61 Boden said
"Nice to meet you I'm Sylvie Brett well Sylvie Brett here at home I'm Sylvie Casey I'm married I married a firefighter Matt Casey who is captain of Truck 81 we have two kids called Jasmine and Juliette" Sylvie said
"Congratulations" Foster Said
"Thanks let me introduce you to everyone" Sylvie said
"Actually Brett can I have a quick word won't take long" Boden said
"Yeah sure what is it" Sylvie said
"Well the CFD have been planning Shay funeral and I was wondering if you could give a few words I know how close you were just a few lines" Boden said
"Yeah sure happy two" Sylvie said
Sylvie showed Emily around she was still struggling with the weight of Shay death.
"Everyone this is Emily Foster our new paramedic on 61" Sylvie said
"Welcome Emily I'm Matthew Casey Sylvie husband" Matt said
After everyone had introduced themselves to Emily the bells when off.
Ambulance 61 Truck 81 Person stuck
When then got it was some stuck on barbs wires this was Sylvie big moment to prove she earned the right to be PIC but she froze.
Once 61 got back from Med Sylvie headed to Matt's office to get some paperwork done
"Hey Matt I can't believe I froze I guess I miss Shay more then I though" Sylvie said
"It okay you were best friends and it is your first shift back since Shay died" Matt said
"It's not that Boden wants me to say a few words a Shay funeral" Sylvie said
Shift was fairly quite Ambo had the most calls out and Sylvie was making Shay proud Sylvie had deeply been affected by Shay dead.
