Matt And Sylvie were having dinner with her parents they were in town because they knew they wouldn't see them at Christmas so came down for the weekend the weekend after thanksgiving.
They had just finished shift got home and done hand over with Lucy and they were getting ready to go to dinner.
"Sylvie your parents book a really nice restaurant" Matt said
"Yeah well they are trying to make the effort because we can't see the over Christmas remember my offered to babysit for us" Sylvie said
"Yeah Nate really nice I'm glad he came down to even if is just to babysit" Matt said
Sylvie's parents arrived at their house with Nate.
"Hey Mom Dad Nate come in Nate thanks for babysitting for us right so Jasmine as all ready been fed so has Juliette I have already given a bottle to Alex and Kayla but I have pre measured two more bottles for bed time just add water the girls are in the sitting room playing on the mat and the twins are in cot in the sitting room to the Tv on Nate help yourself to drinks and snacks thanks again" Sylvie said
"I have got it Sylvie Matt have a nice I can take care of my nieces and Nephew" Nate said
Matt Sylvie and her parents left the house while Nate looked after the kids.
After way though dinner Sylvie could smell smoke but at first didn't think anything of it until the fire alarm when off.
"Guys calm down I'm Lieutenant Matt Casey with the CFD and my wife is a paramedic get to the exit" Matt said
Sylvie helped as people as could while her husband when into no turnout to rescue the chef he manged and met his wife outside.
Sylvie rang 911 "Hi this is off duty paramedic Sylvie Casey i need fire and ambulance at a restaurant fire one male injured" Sylvie said
Firehouse 51 third shift response and was glad Matt And Sylvie were there the chief said they saved a lot of lives.
But something about this fire didn't sit right with Matt and Sylvie.
The next shift rolls around Matt Sylvie and Severide were sat in Boden's office having an officer meeting about the off shift incident
"Casey Brett I taken both 61 and 81 out of service for a few hours OFI want your help" Boden said
"Okay we'll meet at the restaurant" Matt said
"Go I have a feeling they need your expertise" Boden said
Sylvie and Matt headed back to the restaurant Sylvie had learn from Kelly about Arson Hubble was leading the investigation.
"Matt Sylvie thank you for coming" Hubble said
"Okay so myself and Matt were here having dinner with my parents then the fire alarms when off" Sylvie said
"I when into the kitchen to save the chef to me it looked like a normal electrical fire" Matt said
"Look we need your help we were wondering if you guys could find a pattern between these fires" Hubble asked
"Okay we see what we can find" Sylvie said
Matt and Sylvie headed back to firehouse then when to the blue room to see if there were any set similarities.
"What are guys doing" Severide asked
"Well OFI have asked if we can look to see if the fires followed the same pattern there's been 10 fires in the last 3 years" Matt said
Matt Sylvie and Severide found all the CFD reports of restaurants fire from the past three years and when into the common room to look those them.
The trio where sat on the round table look though the CFD papers. Sylvie was looking at the PIC reports.
"Matt Severide look this the PIC reports I have looked though all say the burns on the left of the body actually like that chef burns were" Sylvie said
"Each one of theses reports all say the fire started in the kitchen but could have gone so fast" Matt added
"Well this was arson the char lines are different and the point of origin" Kelly added
Matt Sylvie and Severide decided to head to the OFI to give them everything they had found Captain Hubble was very greatful for they help and now it was left to CPD.
