Getting Closer

"Oho....what are you doing Jisooooo-ya?" Jeonghan asked in sing song voice teasingly, the thing was he was very well aware that it was something related to Seokmin. "Will you please keep your voice down, I need to check these sheets of Seokmin's test. I was just lost in something that I forgot about it. How dumb I can be." Jisoo said as he kept his focus on the work he was doing. "Yes we know you are dumb, but whats his score? Is he doing any good?" Seungcheol sat on his desk facing backwards towards Jisoo. It was there free period, because the teacher for that subject was on a leave, it was a good chance for Jisoo, so he took it. "Till now he had scored 18 and I am on 20th question, one mark each. He needs to score minimum of 25 marks to receive his reward." Jisoo was still busy with the papers.

"Wahhh.....Now Seokmin's getting rewords from you. Lucky guy, we never got anything from you for being your friends for years. I feel betrayed. Forget it, what have you planned as a reward?" Jeonghan was curious grinning like a madman, wiggling his eyesbrows teasingly. "Its a secret. I am not gonna tell you both anything." Jisoo lifted his face, as he was done checking those sheets and from the way he was smiling brightly, his friends were so sure that he got that desired result from Seokmin's test. "The smile is reaching your eyes, he must have scored good right? What is his score?" Seungcheol asked raising his eyebrows in anticipation. "He got 27, just got 3 wrong answers, I am so happy for him he is doing really good. Oh my god, I am feeling so proud of him." Even though it was just Seokmin's first test but Jisoo was so proud of him, Seokmin was improving and was on the right path.

When they were done with their school, Jisoo and Seokmin were sitting at the cafe on their usual place. Jisoo decided to pull Seokmin's leg for some fun. "Hyung please, will you tell me my score.....I am feeling anxious." Seokmin was sitting at his spot, legs shaking with nervousness, even if he was so sure on the day of the test, that he will score good but now from the way Jisoo was frowning in front of him, he was not feeling so sure about it. "You did not scored good Seokmin." Jisoo's words made seokmin gasp in disappointment. There a minute of silence before Seokmin spok, "I am really sorry hyung. I disappointed you. I will try my best for my ne....." Jisoo haulted Seokmin's speech gesturing him to wait, "Will you let me complete what I want to say?" Jisoo raised his brows for Seokmin's approval, to which Seokmin nodded gesturing him to continue, "The thing is you score more than good, it 27 Seokmin, I am so proud of you minnie." Jisoo's smile reflected his contentment for Seokmin.

The word 'minnie' ranged in Seokmin's mind like a thunder. The way Jisoo called Seokmin 'minnie', Seokmin felt sweet jitters in his stomach, like he was on a cloud nine, 'Jisoo hyung gave me a nickname' Seokmin was going crazy with joy after listening to his new nickname he almost forgot that he scored 27. "You called me minnie...!!!" Seokmin was blushing pink and red..."Ohhh...you didn't like that?" Jisoo thought that Seokmin was not okay with it.."Nooo...the thing is you can call me that from now on. I like the way it sounds." Seokmin gave his brightest smile reassuring Jisoo. Jisoo's heart fluttered when he saw that smile that can make his days better. He wished to witness that smile all his life and to be the reason for that smile.

"So......now that you have scored such nice marks, its time you get a reward for it." Jisoo cocked his eyebrows, and again he was rewarded with a beautiful smile from Seokmin. Oh...he can never get enough of that smile. "Yes.....yes, I want to know, what I am going to get for the reward." Seokmin was nodding vigorously with excitement. "Tomorrow we are going to Gaming Arcade, after school gets over. We can skip studies for a day, right?" Jisoo was fiddling with the cap of his pen, he felt nervous, because Seokmin was was straing at him with a straight face. Again he felt like Seokmin was not happy with the reward and his heart sank.

But the actual thing was seokmin was shocked, unable to believe Jisoo's words, excited, everything, every good feeling a person can have were surrounding him. That was the reason he was trying to process the words and what those meant, 'Is he asking me on a date', Seokmin's mind and heart both were running wild. "Are we really going to the Arcade..!! I am so excited hyung, we are going to have so much fun."
With this Jisoo felt relieved, that Seokmin was so ready to go out with him to the Arcade. "Minnie, its all on me, its my treat, because you made me feel proud." Jisoo got up from his seat and hugged Seokmin side ways who was sitting, stunned by Jisoo's sudden act. Seokmin was awestruck but reciprocated the hug with same energy.

"Ahhh.....Now, are we going to study today or not?" Seokmin got back from his trance from their sudden hug. "Yes, we are going to study, since tomorrow there will be no time for it." Jisoo said while he went back to take his usual seat, beaming happily. "So today we are going to start with Tenses. Its not that difficult but you need to concentrate, okay." Jisoo said softly to convince Seokmin that he can do it. "I will try my best to give you less headache." "You...you can never give me headaches, minnie. Never....!!!!" Jisoo reached for Seokmin's hand across the table and gave it a gentle squeeze. Seokmin was delighted by Jisoo's soft words and gestures. "Thank you Hyung." The study session was as usual, Jisoo explaining and Seokmin giving his full attention to his studies.

The days were getting better, as they were spending their time together every day. Everything was new to them but whatever it was, it was good.

"Lets go, minnie. As much I like spending time with you, but we have to leave now." Jisoo was getting all his things in his bag ready to leave. "Okay, see you tomorrow, at our school's gate." Seokmin waved his goodbyes and went home.
