"You and Esteban are horrible people." Charles sighs as he sits down on the couch in the opposite corner to me.
"Why?" I ask with a sly smile, it's just the two of us again. Pierre and Esteban both went to go and be good boyfriends and decided that it was time to go and call Kika and Elena. Which resulted in Pierre handing his assistant duties for me over to Charles. Much to the enjoyment of pretty much everyone. We might be trying to keep whatever it is that is happening a secret, but my brother and his teammate will be on to us sooner rather than later.
"You made us go to the store multiple times! Only to ask for things we didn't buy and make us go again." Charles says slightly agitated. "Then you actually ask us to prepare everything and serve it like it's a freaking five star restaurant. I'm a Formula One driver not a waiter."
"But, it gets better now right?" I ask, coming up with an idea in my head regarding the chocolate covered strawberries I requested earlier.
"Oh?" Charles asks raising his eyebrows. "Hold up, I don't want to know it. You're going to make me do something stupid again."
"I actually had a fun idea, but if you don't want it then that's your loss. Now please go and prepare a heating pad for these stupid cramps I'm having."
"Alright princess." He says with a grin.
Princess. Haven't heard that one in a while.
I watch as Charles shuffles through the kitchen, clearly unsure what to do. "I've got a heating pad in my suitcase." I tell him pointing towards my room.
"You're okay with me looking through it?" He asks and I just nod. Following him with my eyes as he opens my big suitcase and fishing out one of the heating pads. "Your period is still bothering you this much?" Charles asks as he puts a heating pad on my lower back.
"It does. Hasn't really changed since then. Although the birth control I'm on should keep it from getting that bad again." I point out, referring to the time I almost fainted from the pain when I was staying with Arthur. I had them both pretty scared, yet for me it was almost like clockwork back then. I would have pretty bad back aches and stomach aches at the start of my period and by day two the cramps got so bad together with the blood loss that I would feel light headed pretty often.
"At least it's something." Charles says softly. "I reckon you'd like the strawberries and a book?"
"Honestly, that would be amazing. And maybe a cup of tea?" I ask, I could feel the air shift a bit. The bet we made surrounding the game leaving our behaviour and making place for just being us. Being nice to each other.
"I'll go and get it. The book's the one on the nightstand right?"
"Yes, the one I was reading when you guys interrupted me in the hot tub this afternoon." I tell him grabbing one of the blankets and covering most of my body with it.
It doesn't take Charles very long to bring me not only a cup of tea but also a plate of chocolate covered strawberries. And while the plan I had in my mind just a few minutes ago, from him feeding me those strawberries, still sounded appealing. I had now reached the point in which I just really wanted to devour the sweetness, and sooth my cravings.
While I'm munching away on the strawberries and turning the pages off my book, I can't help but notice the glances Charles keeps giving me. "What's up?" I ask lowering my book, as I catch Charles looking at me.
"Nothing, just wondering if we can stay this close once this trip is over." He whispers softly.
"You want us to stay close?"
"I do, but you are thinking of this as your average holiday fling, aren't you?"
"No. No I'm not Charles. Honestly, I'm not really thinking at all."
