With a long, deep breath, I placed the letter down on top of the cover of my bed. Unfortunately, the new air through my body sparked a feeling of nausea and so I raced to the bathroom so that I could throw up,
Once I’d recovered and stopped shaking, I washed my face so that I looked…normal and well, not pregnant,
I rearranged my top and it was then that I saw it. The glint of silver in the mirror. It was the promise ring around the chain, it then hit me that I’d never taken it off. I thought I had. But I hadn’t. I didn’t notice how cold it was on my neck, but now, it was warming. Like a comfort…I knew then, I’d never really been that angry with Harry. I’d always forgive him. I love him too much to stay mad at him.
After tucking it inside my top, I headed downstairs and into the front room, “Hey,” Perrie said, “Why aren’t you,” She pointed her finger to the ceiling, “Up there?”
I shrugged, “You know me. Not one to sit still, I was going to take them upstairs,”
“Good idea, they’re tired,” Niall told me,
Poppy shuffled, “Do you need a hand?” She offered,
“I do,” I murmured taking Annalise up in my arms, “But I was wondering…” I turned around and faced Harry who was slumped miserably in the chair, “If you’d help…me…?”
Harry paused for a second letting what I said sink into his brain. As it clicked. Harry’s green eyes widened and lit up with hope, “Sure,” He nodded trying to keep his excited voice under complete control just in case he startled me and I changed my mind, “I’ll grab Noelle, and Jaime,”
Nodding, Eleanor smiled and winked at me from sitting with Louis and Jake. Slowly, my lips curved up into a small smile,
Then, with Harry following me as I went upstairs.
The two of us, Harry and I, went through our same routine. But in deadened silence. Once the girls were down, I checked them. All asleep,
“Bobbie…” Harry breathed through the darkness,
“Harry,” I interjected, “Come here, sit down,” I took his hand and led him back onto the window seat, slowly, the two of us crept behind the curtains so that we could see each other from the light streaming through the window, and didn’t disturb the stillness in the room behind them,
Harry looked at me and took one of my hands, I rested my head on the window pane, “Bobbie, I…I am so sorry…”
He started to babble when I removed my hand from his and pressed it to his lips, Harry’s voice simmered into silence, “It’s ok,” I whispered,
“What?”
“I said,” I swallowed, “It’s. Ok.”
“I-”
“I forgive you, Harry. I’m sorry,”
Confusion crossed Harry’s face, he moved my finger from his lips, “You have nothing, to be sorry for.”
“But-”
“Can I say something?” He asked, I nodded, “I want to say that I’m very sorry. Because of what I did to you and how I let myself treat you, before…Then, when you saved my life, which I still don’t understand by the way. And I felt so much worse, I thought you…” Tears pooled in his green orbs, “I thought you were going to die,”
“How can you not understand?”
“What?”
“I asked how can you not understand?” I asked this time a lot louder than the first, “How can you not understand why I saved your sorry arse? Huh? Because I love you, idiot,” I muttered flicking the side of his head,
