"That's not where your hands are supposed to be."
"Oh really? My bad."
"You are being very bad." The admonishment was broken down by a stray giggle as Seungmin took the opportunity of his hands being in the best place and squeezing. Hyunjin released his own hands from Seungmin's arms –right where his were supposed to be- and he bopped the other's nose as if he was a bad dog.
The groping wasn't new; he does that at each opportunity so even though he huffed, Hyunjin rolled with it and perhaps slapped the other's butt a few times in retaliation and because it was fun.
They had found some time to start their performance. You'd think that since it was just for them, just for fun that they would take it slow but no, they were even more excited about it then practicing for tour, even the ments performances that kept changing. They were even more excited than any of their comebacks.
Of course by 'finding time' it meant 'sleeping less' but they had so much energy that they needed to expel because of the excitement that sleeping less wasn't taking the usual toll on them. They felt pretty rested and if once or twice they fell asleep in the practice room at home...well then what was the use of living on their own? A perk of having a house and using it was that there was no one to bother and nag them. Even their sore necks and backs were worth it as the performance developed slowly.
Since they were already there, they even practiced other things more enthusiastically in between shaping their performance. Hyunjin was always enthusiastic about hearing (and seeing) Seungmin sing but also dance! Seungmin in turn couldn't keep his hands to himself after Hyunjin danced and always he had an awe-struck look whenever he sang...so he would tell that the cheering for him was the same as his for Seungmin and it felt great. Somehow, they got better and better as they practiced even if it was only for a few weeks.
One memorable time, Seungmin sand 'River' by Bishop Briggs and it sounded so sultry and sexy – even though Hyunjin had no idea about what it was about – that he had Seungmin not only repeat the performance but do it sitting down on a chair and he danced around him and on him and at the end, Seungmin danced with him and that had been their warm up for starting practice which they didn't cut short even though there had been looks that meant that something would happen after...and fortunately they were at home. Alone. They'd skipped stretching and their muscles protested after but it had been worth it. After that day, the song made it to Hyunjin's playlist – both in its original form and the one he'd had Seungmin record in their home studio after.
Another day, their warm up had been one enthusiastic round of ganggangsullae just like they had promised. It was usually a group dance but they made it work and it felt so intimate but so fun...perhaps it was intimate because they were both happy and laughing and loving every second of it as they twirled and spun around together. They gave their thigh muscles a workout as they crouched down and went from left to right while clapping, also exerting their balance skills...Hyunjin was impressed with himself really. Just for that practice, Hyunjin had worn bright red and white clothes and Seungmin got clad in blue. It had so many steps and sections and it was so long that they watched a video and did as they the dancers did in segments, stopping and evaluating between each section but not only was it useful – who knows maybe one day they will cover it as a group on a variety show – but they had chosen some of the steps to incorporate into their own performance which was taking shape slowly day by day. It was like a piece of clay they were holding and nurturing until slowly it formed something.
"You really should dance to this one. Or sing it!" he gasped "OR BOTH!"
Perhaps he was a tad enthusiastic but everyone knew this was his favourite performer and he was so lucky to be in the same group as him but being allowed to perform with him alone was a privilege extra sweet.
