Slip Up

"Does next week Saturday work for you? So far all of the others from around here were free. " Wilbur was sat on his desk at home after work. He had a piece of papier with all the names of the people and a pen in front of him. He had spent the last three days with planning. The food, the music, the time and, of course, the people. He'd make the big announcement for it on Friday night and let the internet do it's thing.

"Sure, will there be alcohol?" Tommy asked curiously. Of course he wanted to know that. But he was 18. Damn, he was 18. Wilbur had practically seen him grow up. It was a bit of a punch to the face.

"Officially, nope. Twitch wouldn't like that. But unofficially, maybe a little. I can't have a hand full of blackout drunk folks on my stream, but I want it to be fun nevertheless."

"Will she be there? Your pretty little coworker" It was meant more as a joke, almost to tease him about it.
"I don't think so. She wouldn't know anyone here, besides, she hasn't got the slightest idea that I do anything related to streaming. She'd probably think I'm an undercover agent with a double life, when I tell her that I have an online persona."

"So you plan on telling her about it?"

Wilbur wasn't sure. He had thought about it, but never came to a satisfying result. It was unnecessary for her to know, but sometimes it felt like he was keeping a part of himself secret from her. Which then again was nonsense, because they weren't as close for it to be relevant at all. He didn't know if they actually were proper friends at this points. He wanted them to be. She was incredibly sweet to him and he really enjoyed talking at any chance he got.
It would be fun to see her outside from work. For a moment he concidered to ask her to get a coffee together sometime. Would that cross a line and make things awkward? It was better not to risk things. They hadn't known each other for that long.

"Not really, I don't think that would do any good."

"Can you tell me more about her, Wil?" Wil rolled his eyes. Even through the call, he could hear his friends grin. He was a wild kid.
"Alright, but leave me the hell alone about her in the future." he laid his head back onto his neck, now facing the ceiling. "Let's see. She's the only one about my age. Maybe a little younger. Has got her desk near the entry. She's nice, I mean she surprised me with a coffee a few days ago, wasn't that sweet? And for some reason, she even knew how I like it"

"She knows just how you like it, huh?" Tom made it sound like Wilbur was talking about something entirely different.

"Not, like that, Tom." It was almost annoying how he managed to make everything sound sexual.

"It does sound like she has a thing for you though." Could he stop talking about her please?

"Since when are you Team-Sunshine, I thought you didn't like her?!" Wil spat out. He was pissed. So pissed, he didn't realise his usage of a certain word.

"Sunshine? Who's- oh. OH. Now we're talking, Wil. You didn't tell me you had this cute little nickname for her. Does she have one for you too?" he teased.

That was the last straw for Wil. His face turned a bright pink and he was glad noone could see him right now. He had become so used to the name, that it wasn't such a big deal to say it. Except for the part that it was only between him and her. He didn't want that name coming out of anyone else's mouth. Tommy had to start learning how to mind his own fucking business.

He hung up on Tom immediately. He was done planning for the day and turned off his pc. He didn't feel like playing video games or streaming or talking to his friends anymore. He went into the kitchen for a bite to eat. A movie would do to entertain him tonight. Besides, he had one more day to work this week. Oh how he was glad to have some sweet time to himself on the weekend. He had no plans for once and it was great.
