He took out his phone and tapped onto it a few times. A beeping started and then someone picked up.
"Hello who's there?" a female asked. She sounded tired, but not like she had been asleep. More like she was about to be.

"Sunshineee, heyyy, glad you're still awake. Could you tell these people that you'll take care of me?" he babbled.

The amount of confused people just went one up. "Wil?! Are you okay? What people? Take care-what?! Where are you?" she sounded beyond worried.

"At home of course. I'm free now, will you come over, pretty pleaseee?"

"Do you need help? Tell me where are, I'll be there if you want."

"Yes ma'am" he told her his address.

"That's not far away, I'll be there in 10. Stay safe" she hung up.

There were mixed emotions among the friends. Wilbur looked like the happiest person on earth, Tommy was grinning as well, Tubbo was in pure disbelief and Jack and Nikki had their arms crossed. They looked more like disappointed parents.

"What do we do with him?" Tubbo asked.

"We wait till his baby sitter arrives and leave them two to do their thing." Tommy explained.

And so they did.

At one point the door bell rang again and Jack went to open it. Without much explanation, except for the part where Wilbur wanted her to be there instead of them, he showed her the way to him.

The trash bags with the leftover stuff from the party were neatly stacked in the corner. There were small piles of confetti and there was a strong smell of alcohol in the air.

She sat down beside him on the couch and put a hand on his shoulder. His body temperature was alarmingly high. He didn't look hurt though, strangely content.

"He's drunk and refused to have anyone else by his side than you. Good luck. We'll check up on him tomorrow" Nikki told her.

Tommy poked Tubbo into the side. "I won." he whispered to him. "This is not the right moment, Tommy." They held eye contact, like a starring contest. Tubbo blinked first. "Damn it, there you go." he slipped him a 20 Pound bill. Jack noticed. "Really guys? What even was the point?" he shout-whispered to them.

"To prove that he had a thing for her. Plus ten, if she liked him too." Tommy admitted. "Should have let me in on it sooner, I would have joined." Jack muddered.

Nikki gave them a warning look. She nodded in the direction of the door.
A clear signal. The four of them should leave now. "Wilbur's bedroom is the last one down the hall. The bathroom is the one on the right. Good night you two!"

The click of the door announced the following silence. Y/N sat there, completely overwhelmed next to her coworker, that she hadn't expected to see outside of work that soon.
He looked at her, still with that drunk smile on his face. He looked so peaceful. Wilbur... that wasn't his official name, she knew that. But a nickname?

"You're here!" he said happily. Y/N was unsure how to handle the situation. Had he called her to prove a point or because he wanted to spent time with her? It was late at night and she had thought it was an emergency. She sighed. "Let's get you to bed, can you walk?"

It looked like it. When she tried to pull him up from the couch, he was holding onto her with surprising strength for a drunk person. They stumbled to his room and she gently set him down on the bed. She sat down next time him. He put his head on her shoulder.

His bedroom looked modern and simple. White walls, dark blue bed frame and bed sheets. A black wardrobe, some smaller shelves.

"Now what do we do?" That was more of a question to herself than to him. It was a strange situation. "I'm glad you're here. I knew you'd come, Sunshine. I'm tired. You're gonna stay with me, right?" He gave her the most puppy eyed look he could. She couldn't ignore the urge to grand him his wish. She was too tired to resist. He looked so pretty right now. "Right... We're gonna have an interesting talk about this tomorrow." He hummed in agreement. He crawled to the middle of the bed pulling the blanket over him. He lifted it a moment later as an invitation for her to join.

"Com' ere, darling"

This man was half asleep. He wasn't even listening to his own words, she thought. Yet, she laid down next him. He snuggled up to her. The inner warmth that formed in her that moment wasn't comparable to anything she's ever felt before. Not much later, her eyes were too heavy to keep open for even one moment longer and she thrifted into a deep sleep.
