We went up the staircase into an old fashioned office, and inside it sat an old man whom I reckoned was Dumbledore. "Albus!" Theo said.
The man looked up. "King Theo!" He bowed his head respectfully.

"You called?" Luminos asked.
"Ah, King Luminos!" Albus said.

"Yes, yes." Albus started. "You see, we have a Dark Lord on the loose, and he is gaining strength." They all looked at me.

"What?" I said.
Luminos said, "Albus Dumbledore, meet Egeus, King of Therians."
"Hello," I said, bowing my head.
"Gee, meet Albus Dumbledore, Headmaster of Hogwarts."
I almost choked on my own spit. Headmaster? So this is a school, not a castle. I half expected it to be Theo's castle.

"So, let me get this straight. A great evil is rising, and your only hope, Harry Potter needs to be protected?" I asked.

"You are perfect for the job." Theo started, "You see, you are. Lion at heart. You will be put in Griffindor, where the boy is. You will make friends with him and you can protect him. For the while, you can go to Albus' office every now and then."

"Why protect Harry Potter?"
"Harry Potter is an asset for the Light. His destiny is to defeat Lord Voldemort, the times-a-great grandson of the Dark Wizard King Salazar Slytherin."

"Uh huh?"
"If Voldemort dies, the Dark will have a great loss, because one of their forces, the Death Eaters, will be disbanded, which will help us to win the war coming in maybe, twenty years."

"Yeah, and how am I supposed to protect him?"
"You will disguise as a second year. I'll arrange for him to end up in the Weasley residence, where you will meet him. Albus will send you a letter of admission to Hogwarts. You have magical powers, that's why."

"Uh huh?"
"And don't mess it up!"

Dumbledore said, "Okay, thank you sirs."
We opened up several time portals, each leading to our own times.

I landed in the bedroom, and got on the bed. I was leaving tomorrow. Though it may seem to the pack, I'll be away for a week, to me, a year.

No, I thought to myself. This is my job. To keep the balance, I must fight. Just balance. Without light, there could not be dark. Without evil, there will be no goodness.

Tomorrow is a new day. I thought as I held my mate closer to me. Tomorrow, I will go and be a protector, not just a king.

I had a mount, after all. I was not just a Therian king, after all. I was a prince, of the Elder Fire. And my mount the most powerful, a Phoenix-Dragon.

I was Hybrid of the Elder Phoenix and Elder Dragon clans, the Prince of Fire.
