Embracing Heather tight, Hiccup squeezed her eyes, once feeling another's tears on her shoulder. If they looked around, they would have glimpsed dragons of various sizes and colors in each of the stables their eyes land on.
Despite the loudness, which was caused by them, as well as the rather nasty smell of wet straw and raw fish, the two of them focused on each other, before Hiccup drew farther, just so as to beam at Heather's wet, but grinning face.
"So, do ya believe me now, if I say it's alright?"
"I do, but I am still sorry," Heather replied, hugging herself when they broke apart. "I-I should've listened to you from the very beginning. Nothing would have happened with, you know," she paused and pointed with her chin on Hiccup's shoulder, wrapped by a bandage.
"Oh, come one. It's not the first time I take a punch," Hiccup chuckled, but then, glimpsing Heather's uncomfortable, grunted. "I'm fine. The better question is if ya are, after-,"
"Can we, please, don't talk about it?" Heather interrupted her swiftly, gnashing her teeth, anxiously. "If I had to be honest, I would like to just forget about him."
"If that's what ya wish for, I have no problem with it," Hiccup responded, nodding and exhaling, soundly. "What plan are ya havin', now? The team already has agreed that you can stay, so if ya would like to, ye're welcome to do so."
"Astrid invited me to stay with her in her hut," Heather explained, swaying on her feet, shrugging. "I think it's not the worst idea, but I don't want to cause any problems."
"Ya aren't; it'll be nice to have ya here," Hiccup stated and then elbowed her side, sliding next to her. "Also, ye'll have close to Astrid's trainin' spot, so ye'd better prepare because I want a rematch after the last one."
"Oh, Hiccup, you pure soul, you'll never win against me and either against Astrid," Heather mocked, encircling her arm around the other's shoulders.
"Hey, let me dream, at least," Hiccup giggled, rolling her eyes, until these landed on the terrace, and she tensed, stroking her fingers.
There, Toothless stood straight, gaping at the sunset, while being by back to them. His arms were tightly crossed on his chest while having rather a closed-up expression, which resulted in Hiccup's shiver. Eventually, feeling that she's been staring for too long, Hiccup lowered her eyes to the ground, and noticing that, Heather simpered, glancing at her, sympathetically.
"Why don't you go and talk to him?" Heather proposed, patting Hiccup's farther shoulder.
"I'm not sure if that's the best idea; maybe we should give each other space, I-," she hesitated, inhaling and looking away. "I don't want to worsen it."
"Of course, you don't, and maybe you're right; maybe giving each other some space is a good concept, but let me tell you that," Heather admitted, before leaning over her, muttering, "he would like to talk to you, too."
Instantly, Hiccup's eyes rounded, glancing with them at Heather and Toothless, sequentially. Subsequently, Heather grasped her cheeks, to stop her head from moving around, and squeezed them.
"Do whatever you would like, Hiccup. It's your decision," she summed up, and then, let go of her, before stepping away. "I'll go; I'm meeting with Astrid for the game, so wish me luck," she finished, waving her hand to Hiccup, and later, leaving through the entrance, where she did the same to Toothless, who nodded at her, before disappearing into the woods.
Afterward, Hiccup pursued her lips, gaping at the ceiling of the stables, occasionally allowing her eyes to lower, so she could dart at unaware Toothless. Eventually, inhaling and straightening, Hiccup stepped forward, twisting her fingers behind her back while moving toward the man, wearing rather an anxious expression.
