IT'S BEEN A WEEK SINCE I ARRIVED IN MALAYSIA. Before I depart from Madinah, I'd make a call from a friend of mine whom we study at the same university. I told him that I would be staying in Malaysia for quite some time to take in the sights. It may even lead to the opening of a new business.

He was speechless as the news reached him, but later I could hear from his voice that someone was in a joyful mood. It's been a while since we last met each other. About a year, I presume.

The moment my foot stepped outside from Kuala Lumpur International Airport,  Emir waited and welcome me with a big hug. This one thing about Emir, he cherishes his friends well.

He let me stay over at his family hotel, Saffah Hotel for the time being. At first, I refused saying it would be troublesome for him. But knowing him, once he decided, he was fixed on his opinion. I had no choice but to agree.

Not only that, his kindness goes far beyond when he invited me to join a dinner amongst businessmen in Malaysia. He says that the dinner was to raise funds and acts as piety and charity to those people in need.
I know for a certain that if I refuse his invitation, he would send me flying to the sky,  so I agreed to come. I'm truly indebted to him.

All those days have passed, and the night has arrived. Looking out through the glass window, the view was breathtaking. After the Maghrib prayer, I immediately dressed up.

My attire for tonight is a black tuxedo along with a navy blue tie. Since it is dinner we are talking about, I have to look presentable. There is a possibility that there might be potential business partners or some kind of business lineup. InsyaAllah.

As soon as I arrived on the 40th floor, I saw a familiar silhouette in the distance. Emir was waiting for me in front of the dining hall. And to my surprise, he was not alone.

" Assalamualaikum, Emir. " I greeted him and shook his hands.

" Waalikumussalam Uthman. Glad to see that you find your way safely. One might think you would get lost," he let out a small laugh. Emir, Emir. He's always been the same. Cracking his jokes everywhere.

" Anyway, now that you're here, I would like to introduce you to my family. This is Mr. Adam, my father, and Mr. Fahim, my brother. I brought them because they shouldn't miss the fun. The more the merrier!" He says while grinning from tooth to tooth. I could tell from his expression that he was eager for this dinner.

" Nice to meet you, Mr. Adam and Mr. Fahim. I hope we can be acquaintances."

" The pleasure is mine, Mr. Uthman. I heard many stories about you from my son. You two must be close. I am well informed that you two went to Oxford University together," we shake hands and I give him a wide smile. My head nods in agreement.

Without further ado, Emir invites me to the dining hall. The hall was decorated with gold and black color tones, a chandelier in the middle, and fancy decorations. The atmosphere is cheery and well-lighted.

Right before my eyes, this hall was crowded with people. I guess Emir wasn't joking about this being a business-related dinner. My eyes were observed as a few people approached me. Most of them look around mid-thirty and forty.

" Assalamualikum Encik Adam. Lama tak jumpa encik sejak kebelakangan ini, sibuk ke?" one of them asked, the one who's wearing glasses. My prediction is that they speak in their native language- Bahasa Melayu.

" Waalikumussalam, Encik Rosdi. Haah, saya memang sibuk sejak kebelakangan ini. Banyak projek yang perlu diuruskan, specially projek XXX." Emir's father respond to him in a friendly manner.
