I took Elena outside, after ensuring that there was a team of operatives keeping a close eye on us and the surrounding area. She needed air, she needed to breathe, I knew the signs well on hearing Harry was coming she had started to panic. So here we were, in the garden and the snow was falling softly all around us... I noticed she'd left her coat inside so without giving it a second thought, shrugged my jacket off and wrapped it around her. I was raised to be a gentleman; I knew the way to treat a woman right even if I didn't always actually do it... Elena was a lady; she deserved to be treated right by someone. At that moment in time, that someone was me.

"He's coming for me; he knows what I have done... If Alexander finds me, I might as well lie down and take the bullet he'll put in my head. I don't want to die, I'm too young to die, there's too much I want to do with my life. Too much I want to see, to experience. I want to live Lucas... I deserve a chance to have a life without him making me scared every single day. Don't I Lucas? You promised you'd keep me safe. Don't leave promise me."

Elena was shaking with fear, and I had nothing I could say to reassure her, I simply didn't have any answers for her; I was in the dark as much as she was. I was hoping we'd get the answers to the many questions going through our heads... I could guarantee Elena and I were thinking the same thing, had Alexander found she had come to MI5? If he had, we had a serious problem. I looked and I had put my arm around Elena, I found myself panicking once again and went to move it away... She however, moved closer into me as if her subconscious told her that I would keep her safe. I didn't know what to do so I looked towards the sky and watched the snow fall. Where was Harry, he was the one with the answers.... he was the man who could give us, hopefully the reassurance we needed.

I heard one of the operatives acknowledge a visitors arrival. Harry. Then the man himself was heading towards Elena and I, I had not noticed that my arm was still around her though until I saw the pointed look on his face. My arm slowly moved off from around her shoulders, and for a brief second I missed the contact, what was going on with me? I needed to focus on the job at hand. Keeping this woman safe from her power crazy husband was the priority and no doubt his many loyal employees.

Harry pointed to a small table just away from the house and signalled the man who was watching us to leave. It was to just be the three of us... He took a deep breath and spoke.

"Elena, the men we had watching Alexander have lost him, now do not worry... Tariq is monitoring all of his credit card transactions and Dimitri is currently looking into how we can infiltrate Alexander's office. If we think it's possible we will send someone in to monitor from within. Please try not to be too concerned."

Her face fell, and the fear crossed her already pale face. Harry immediately tried to reassure her, but Harry being Harry had to be honest. She reached across her hand and placed it close to mine. I glanced at her and nodded slowly, in such a short time... I had found myself understanding her need for me to be close to her. She looked so vulnerable, my jacket drowning her small frame and yet, even through it all I could see her sheer determination to carry on with the decision she had made.

"We will find him; it's merely a matter of time. The problem facing us now is that we know that by now Alexander will be certain that you've left him. We have been intercepting his calls for some time now as you know and there was a call earlier today placed to your Aunt. Now, she of course, doesn't know anything to do with what has been going on, but I gathered she was aware that your marriage wasn't as solid as it appeared in public? Is there anywhere you would go to, it might be worth making it appear that you're there, we could plant some of your belongs; clothes... jewellery anything that you would always take with you?"

The idea was a good one, we had done it in the past and had one of the operatives be seen in the location so if they were being watched, it would appear that the person was at the location. Little things like been seen in a window. It made sense... Alexander would certainly have people out looking for Elena; she was his wife and the man's eyes, his possession. The thought of any man thinking a woman being their possession made me angry and I had to look down as her soft voice spoke to Harry.
