A/N: There will be at least one more chapter today.

Things were really bad.

Taehyun has been in the chief's office for over an hour now, and while beomgyu was sitting at his desk, he could tell how anxious both of the other captains looked.

Black Reaper knew Taehyun was a cop, and that put all of them in danger.

"What do you think they'll do?" Beomgyu asked, looking back and forth between the two of them who were trying to focus on their own cases.

"No idea. The only people who truly know a thing about Black Reaper are the two in the office. Even then, only Taehyun can predict what they're gonna do," Rosé answered his question, and Taeyong stood up.

"There was another homicide by Black Reaper. I'll be back," he spoke, but Rosé also stood up.

"Do you think that's a good idea? If they might target the police, I don't think that any of us should go to one of their crime scenes."

She made a good point, and Taeyong knew that, but he explained why he felt that he needed to investigate this one. It happened right after they found out Taehyun was a cop, so something could have been left behind at the scene. Some sort of a note or warning. That's what Taeyong thought.

They both ended up leaving together, and Beomgyu sighed, knowing he would be bored now. There weren't any other cops in the room right now. Rose's higher subordinates were probably on patrol and Taeyong's were probably going to the same crime scene he was. Taehyun's were all still on leave, since they were all shaken up by how he shot that guy.

Although, Beomgyu assumed now that they were just staying away to get paid while not working. While he understood that, it seemed over the top for them to be gone this long and still be getting paid.

Well, it had only been five days, but still.

Taehyun finally came out of the office and looked at Beomgyu who was scrolling on his phone. Now, more then ever, he wanted Beomgyu to leave, but he knew he wouldn't. And unfortunately, he promised that he wouldn't pester him about moving anymore.

He shooed Beomgyu out of his seat and sat down while the older boy sat beside him. He and the chief were trying to come up with a plan that entire time, and Taehyun did have an idea of one, but he didn't tell him about it. Chief Kim would say "no" immediately.

For now, they settled on the knowledge that Kami wasn't going to kill Taehyun, and reluctantly agreed that using him as a barrier of sorts was their only plan. It was a risk to assume that she wouldn't try to kill him, but using her own emotions and loyalty towards him against her seemed like the only thing they could do right now. All these years, Taehyun tried to convince himself that she was a bad person, and that abandoning her was okay, but seeing her cry broke him.

He remembered everything they did together, everything they experienced, and that she truly was his best friend.

Now I just have to protect everyone, he tried to convince himself. Even if it means hurting her.

He took a deep breath and looked over at Beomgyu. "Do you still think about Mrs. Park?" He asked. He hasn't had to help Beomgyu with any mental breakdowns lately, so he was just curious.

"Of course I do. All the time."

Now, he understandably looked upset, and Taehyun nodded. "I'll avenge her. I promise." His phone started ringing and he answered it after seeing Taeyong's caller ID. "What is it?" A moment later, his eyes widened. "What?!"

Around half an hour later, the captains and the chief were looking over the note left at the crime scene. When Taehyun heard about it, he immediately told the chief, and the station went on lockdown.

'You have to know what we want by now. Today, at 4 p.m. (16:00) on the dot, we will come get it. If not handed over, we will blow up your entire building. This is something serious, and we're gonna be playing no more games.

-Seojun'

"That's only a half hour from now. They want Taehyun?" Rosé asked. "They're sick."

"He was their mastermind," Chief Kim sighed. "Of course they're gonna want him back. But that's not happening. All three of you, go inform everyone, and I mean everyone, that we're defending this building. Get your men back here. We're guarding every entrance, and the gate at the front. Chances are, they'll be in the field across the street from the gate."

"Yes Sir!" They all yelled before splitting off into different sections of the building.

"What should I do?"

Chief Kim was terrified to hear those words, completely forgetting that Beomgyu was here. "Follow me." Beomgyu followed him down a hallway that he normally didn't go into, down some stairs, and finally, to a door that had a pass code to get inside. "Your phone will still have service and there's a ton of food in here. Also, the room is basically indestructible and there's a panic button that will alert Incheon police that you're here. In case the station actually does come down, you'll be safe. Just don't leave this room!"

Beomgyu was lightly shoved inside and before he could protest, Chief Kim shut the heavy door. It seemed easy to get out, but he didn't want to disobey his wishes, even if he didnt work for the man. He turned around to look over what looked like a bedroom with a TV and a mini kitchen, and shut his eyes.

He put him in here to be safe.

Taehyun always protected him.

They all always protected him.

Now, he felt the want to protect Taehyun somehow. Black Reaper was after him. Beomgyu couldn't imagine how much it would screw him up if they actually brought him back to their group.

How could he help Taehyun though? He was stuck here.

"Sir!" He heard a voice from the speaker near the door. "Everyone's in position!"

That quickly? Beomgyu's eyes widened, but he was relieved to know that he might be able to hear everything that happens.
