*Six days later*
Every day was the same. They went shopping some of the days, but mainly spent their time at the station. Beomgyu did get his phone back, which was a relief, but a lot of restrictions were put on it. The texts he received were monitored, his browser was always on incognito mode, and he couldn't post about his life on social media.
As overbearing and irritating as it was, he knew he had to try to deal with it. Everything being done was in his best interest.
Today, they sat in the car in one of the parking lots of the university in silence. It was Beomgyu who was originally silent, but Taehyun just went along with it. He could tell Beomgyu was nervous by the way he stared at the dashboard and breathed heavily.
"Are you sure you're ready?" He asked. He had already confirmed it last night and this morning, being met with a "yeah" both times. Beomgyu seemed a lot less confident now. "If you don't want to, we can go back home. You don't need to go back this early-"
Beomgyu got out of the car without a word and Taehyun hurried after him, a bit confused as to what he was doing. But Beomgyu just headed to a building and they walked to his first class. It was a small class of maybe twenty something students, making Taehyun glad. The less people they had to deal with, the better.
"Excuse me. You can't wear things like that in my class," the professor said, turning to face them from where he was standing at the board.
After gesturing for Beomgyu to sit down, Taehyun walked over and discreetly showed him his badge. "He's under high security protection right now. We've already gotten permission from the school's president to do what we need to do."
Beomgyu sat down nervously, staring down at his desk instead of the pairs of eyes on him. He understood why they were staring, but it freaked him out regardless. A moment later, Taehyun sat beside him and just listened while the professor started giving his lecture. Beomgyu tried his best to pay attention and take notes on his computer that he eventually got out, but it was hard to do so.
His confidence was immediately stripped away from him when he stepped foot in this room, and he couldn't understand why. It's not like this was Mrs. Park's room. Perhaps, it was the sad thought that he was sitting here, listening to his other teacher speak after she died. If Mrs. Park knew how he was feeling, she would feel bad. She wanted him to succeed. She wanted all of her students to succeed.
She would tell him to focus instead of mourning over her, but he would regret to tell her that it was something he simply couldn't do.
When the class was over, they went to get lunch at the mini food court and Beomgyu decided to try to catch up on some missed homework. Maybe if he couldn't focus on his professor speaking, he could try to focus on his own terms.
Every time his eyes glanced over his computer however, he was met with Taehyun stuffing his face with a new treat or slurping on a milkshake. Or... was it a smoothie? Or a slushy? He couldn't tell what was in the cup at this point. Not even the color could give away which of the different diabetes-inducing drinks Taehyun was consuming.
"How are you so skinny?" He asked, making Taehyun look at him while still sipping on it. He had only ever seen the man in long sleeves, but even so, he could tell that he was both skinny and buff underneath his baggy shirts. "All you do is eat sweets."
Taehyun looked at him from above his sunglasses and smiled. "It's been my diet my entire life. My body has just grown accustomed to it."
He spun in the chair he was sitting in and Beomgyu lowered his head in front of his screen. "That's... not how that works." When Taehyun didn't give a genuine answer, he sighed and looked around the cafeteria, gasping when he saw all three of his friends together.
