A/N: Really short chapter because I have to go and I didn't have time to write more lol 🙏.

*The next morning*

Date: May 26th

"Sir, this is completely unnatural. I mean, based off of what we know about their commanders, they're ruthless and couldn't care less about civilians. He even asked the girl to report it to the police. What do you think this means?"

"They probably just did it as some publicity thing. To let everyone know that they're not all that evil," Taeyong replied, leading Yeonjun to write down what he said.

He's been shadowing him a lot more lately and Taeyong's kind of become accustomed to it. He's never had anyone shadow him before Yeonjun, but the boy was kind, smart, and Beomgyu's best friend. Taeyong liked him.

They stepped out of his car and through the people standing in the area. Cops, detectives, and people who were trying to cast the event on TV were all there, completely shocked by the story. Everyone stepped aside for Taeyong though, and Yeonjun couldn't get over the level of respect everyone had for him.

With Taehyun gone, for reasons unknown to all of them, he was the smartest person on the police force. Not only that, but he walked with his head high while still remaining humble about his own talents when it came to his job.

Finally, he stopped in the alleyway and kneeled beside the body with Yeonjun a few feet behind him. "You're still checking his wrists?" Yeonjun asked when Taeyong started rolling up the man's tight sleeves.

"I do everytime. No matter what. It's a habit now." As he started pulling it up, he saw "BIBI" written and his eyes widened. "Yeonjun, can you go talk to the people who are curious? Tell them what I told you. That it may have been a publicity thing." Yeonjun was confused by the request, but left nonetheless. After making sure no one else was nearby, Taeyong rolled up the rest of his sleeve. "Taehyun, you son of a bitch." A soft laugh escaped his mouth as he said it.

"Bibi" was a secret language the two of them created a few months after they met. They mutually agreed one night that they needed a way to communicate in secret (for whatever reason), but they haven't even talked about it since they made it up that night. The letters and numbers of the language were all in code. The code being different variations of the letters "B" and "I" together.

Taeyong remembered it exactly, of course. Even if he didn't remember it, he could have decoded it in an instant. He was just amazed that Taehyun would do it now.

"8/23. D-Day. 10 p.m. (22:00)."

A/N: That is your author's birthday 😁.

August 23rd at 10 p.m.? He thought about it for only a moment before he realized exactly why Taehyun did this. The marker was smearing off under his fingers easily. If Taehyun wanted everyone to know, he would have used a permanent marker and wrote it normally.

Taeyong wiped it off the rest of the way and stood up. Taehyun shot the man to punish him for what he was about to do. The girl told them exactly what happened, and what she could remember of what Taehyun said. This man's death wasn't specifically related to Taehyun needing to communicate with Taeyong. Taehyun just took his death as an opportunity to do so.

Normally, he would tell Rosé and Chief Kim about something like this, but he decided against it for now. Taehyun trusted him and him only with this date and time. That's why he wrote it on the man's wrist, knowing Taeyong would look there immediately. Taehyun knew he would look there before the marker went away on its own, and before anyone else would think to roll his sleeves up to look.

Taehyun was definitely a terrifyingly intelligent man. It's no wonder Black Reaper wanted him back.

When he got home that night, he found Beomgyu in a negative mood on the couch. "What's wrong?" He asked, sitting beside him and taking his shoes off.

"My favorite coworker didn't show up today. It was boring as hell."

Taeyong remembered that the girl works at the same café as Beomgyu and sighed. "Is her name Yuna?" Beomgyu nodded, his heart rate picking up at the question of why Taeyong knew her name. "She was attacked by a member of Black Reaper last night." His eyes widened in sadness, but the smile on Taeyong's face confused him. "Taehyun saved her."

His hands anxiously gripped the couch, and while he was happy to hear that sentence, everything leading up to it still upset him. "What do you mean? How do you know that?" Taeyong told him everything except for the message Taehyun left. "So he really is still good..."

"Of course he is. He's only there to defeat them, don't forget. Even if he has to do wrong things to earn their trust, he's going to bring them down. I know it."

"How?"

Taeyong shut his eyes and leaned his head against the back of the couch. Whatever Taehyun's plan was, it was already in motion. Stopping a shooting, stopping a sexual assault, communicating with Taeyong in a way that only he could understand. Perhaps, he was still doing heroic things, but using his power in the group to not suffer any consequences.

If he was suffering consequences, Taeyong really didn't want to know.

A/N: Taehyun's insane.
