Beomgyu didn't want to go home yet. Even though he got into a very emotional fight with his mom, he still wanted to say "hi" to his dad when he woke up. He didn't want to stay in the hospital because of his mom though.

So what was the solution?

He stood by the TV in the hotel room, staring at Taehyun who was laying on one of the beds and holding an ice pack against his entire face.

"How did you get to Daegu?" He asked.

"Rosé told me you were here. I woke up not long after you left."

When Taehyun had originally got there, he was wearing his normal clothes and disguise. But right now, he wasn't wearing a shirt so he could ice the other parts of his body. And there it was. The scythe tattoo directly on his bicep. The important members got them on their bicep. Beomgyu remembered that immediately after finding out Taehyun was a member.

He had never seen Taehyun without a long sleeve shirt on.

"Did you and Taeyong have a chance to talk?" He walked over to sit on the other bed and stare at the forming bruises all over Taehyun's body.

"No. I left right away." He didn't say anything else for a while, but took the ice pack off to look over at him. "Did you ever think to ask your parents why they treated you that way? Not that there needs to be a reason for parents to be shitty parents. But who knows? Maybe they had a reason for protecting you so closely."

Beomgyu shrugged. "I always just chalked it up to me being the son of the chief of police."

Taehyun's eyes widened. "You never told me your father is the chief."

"I guess both of our father figures are the chief of police in different cities." He laughed softly and laid down on his bed. "Can I ask you something?" Taehyun hummed and set the ice on a bad bruise on his shoulder. "Do you hate Black Reaper?

They were talking about Beomgyu, so the question surprised Taehyun. All of a sudden, he was asking a question as deep as that? In a way, Taehyun had kind of hoped Beomgyu wouldn't talk to him about it. It's not that he didn't want to talk about it. There were just a lot of things he didn't want an ordinary person like Beomgyu to know.

Well, everything about him was a secret that only Chief Kim knew. Now, Beomgyu and the others knew a lot more.

"No," he answered honestly. "I can't ever bring myself to hate them. I hated being there, and I hate what they do, but throughout my life, they were my family. Kami, Seojun, and some of the others."

That's right. Taehyun knew Kami.

"Are you watching anyone in particular?" Someone asked, sitting across from him at the small table. "You seem very focused."

He looked at her and his mouth opened slightly for a moment before he spoke. "Yes. I'm watching my friend." His voice lowered an octave and he looked back at Beomgyu who was now taking small steps without falling.

Taehyun had made his voice deeper because he knew who she was, and he didn't want her knowing who he was.

"Your friend? You seem to be watching this friend very closely. Are you not more than that?"

Taehyun's eyes narrowed as she spoke. "We're not. We're just friends. And I think you should mind your own business."

He didn't want to let her know anything about who they were or why he was protecting Beomgyu. That's why he acted so coldly towards her. It didn't surprise him that she knew he was a cop either. The two of them were the smartest members of Black Reaper.
