SCP-105 is a female human of European descent, although her age is classified (though it is possible that she was 15 years old when she was contained).

Iris Thompson was born on Phoenix Arizona on May 12th, sometime during the late 20th century. She first discovered her properties around ten or eleven years of age when she noticed the ocean of a photo she was holding began to move in real time. When she told it to her parents they simply shrugged it off as her imagination. She eventually found out that she could also physically interact with the environment in some photos, but this ability was somewhat limited until her parents bought her a Polaroid One Step Express camera, which allowed her to expand her powers.

After returning home one day with her nine year old brother, Tommy Thompson, and while being accompanied by her best friend Anthony Baker, Tommy was accidentally ran over by a car while Iris wasn't looking. The accident killed Tommy instantly, and left Iris with massive grief over the lost of her brother, as well as leaving her with trauma after witnessing his brutal death.

During the funeral Iris was unable to stand this and left, hiding herself in a spot and crying. While hiding Anthony found her and comforted Iris. This would lead to the two eventually entering a romantic relationship. When Iris was looking at a picture of her and her boyfriend she witnessed him being held at gunpoint by a masked thug. Iris tried to intervene by attempting to take the gun away, but as the two struggled, Iris accidentally shot Anthony while the thief fled. She was horrified at what had happened, but because Anthony was shot in the chest she hoped that maybe he was still alive and informed the police. Unfortunately, by the time they arrived Anthony had slowly died. When the police questioned Iris on how she witnessed the crime, she lied by stating that they were on the phone, since no one would believe she saw it through a photograph.

Her lie was revealed as there were no phone records of their call and her fingerprints were found on the gun, causing her to be arrested as the prime suspect for the murder of her boyfriend. She explained to her attorney what really happened, but he didn't believe her and recommended her that she should plead guilty. She refused and retold her story to the court, even offering to demonstrate her property. This was seen by two agents, David Johnson and Jeremiah Collins, from the SCP Foundation's Department of Humanoid Risk Assessment, and at first decided to simply take away her camera and convince her that she was in fact crazy and that she did kill her boyfriend.

However, after her nature as an infovore was discovered she was contained shortly afterward and the Foundation covered up her disappearance with her parents by claiming that she had been killed while she attempted to escape from a psychiatric facility.
