Andrew Irvine was an avid mountain climber known for his fearless spirit and unyielding determination. One fateful day, he embarked on an expedition to conquer the mighty Mount Everest. At the summit, Andrew encountered SCP-1529, a malevolent entity known to dwell in the mountain's heights. The creature stared him down, and despite Andrew's desperate pleas for mercy, SCP-1529 cruelly transformed him. His limbs were stretched, his skin turned a ghastly pale, and he began to weep uncontrollably. SCP-1529 laughed at Andrew's agony and left him deformed and broken.
Andrew's transformation into SCP-096 was complete. Initially, he was a mindless creature, driven by an uncontrollable rage to kill anyone who saw his face. His existence was a nightmare, causing destruction and death wherever he went, haunted by the curse placed upon him by SCP-1529.
However, hope arrived in the form of Erma Williams, a future member of 05-1's Last Hope project. Erma discovered a way to restore Andrew's sentience through kind acts and a bit of dark magic, allowing him to regain control over his actions and memories of his former life. With his mind restored, Andrew's true nature as a kind and courageous individual emerged once more.
With his newfound awareness, Andrew, now SCP-096, chose to use his formidable abilities to protect rather than destroy. He became a valuable ally to the Foundation, particularly to Last Hope, assisting them in their most dangerous missions. His powers, once a source of terror, were now harnessed for the greater good.
