Chapter 32.

OMNISCIENT POV.
MONDAY AFTERNOON.

"Soo, how was your trip?" Gloria asked Christiana as she typed away.

"It was good, Mauritius is beautiful." She said with a smile.

"Good now, we are going to Erin Ijesha Waterfall soon. I don't have money to ball like you so we will settle for that. "Gloria said making Christiana laugh.

"No Wahala, let me know anytime." She responded and Gloria nodded handing a sausage roll and drink.

"So if I didn't say I will go....yeah,you wouldn't have gotten that." Tiana said and Gloria completed. Tiana chuckled shaking her head.

"Thank you." Tiana said as Gloria left.

Christiana's plane had landed in Nigeria around 1am and spent another 2 hours coming back to Ibadan. She was exhausted and stressed because she kept calling James and he wasn't still answering.

This was the longest they hadn't talked and she planned on fixing that after work.

"Why?" Christiana asked herself feeling tears welling up in her eyes while reading the report she was meant to write on.

The situation was a woman who had been in an abusive marriage for about 20 years and she finally ended up dead and it was notified to the police by concerned the neighbours and the man had beaten her drunk in front of their 3 children.

"Fine girl." Rotimi came to her table with a smile plastered on his face. She blinked away her tears.

"What happened? " He asked sounding worried touching her hand. She shook her head just giving him the report to read.

"Like can you imagine how those kids will be scared for life." She said with a heavy heart and he just shook his head.

"Anyways, how are you?" She asked. "Good, you were enjoying yourself, you didn't reply to my message." He answered.

"Oh please, I responded not just as fast as you would like." She said to him.

"Well, respond fast when I text you. " He said giving her snacks and a drink.

"Why are y'all bribing me today?" She asked playfully shaking her head.

"'Cause we know you. Foodie oshii." He said and she sucked her teeth pushing him away and he laughed saying he would talk to her later.

"Ah,Good evening madam" James'gateman greeted as she pulled up in a Bolt ride.

"How are you? Is your oga around?" She asked.

"No ma, but he go soon arrive." He informed her and she nodded.

"Do you have the key to his house?" She asked and he nodded saying, "yes ma"

"Can you help me open it? " She asked and he said, "Ah, Madam. I don't know o. I no wan lose my job."

"You won't, don't worry." She assured and he reluctantly opened the door to house and she thanked him. He left her praying he wouldn't lose his job.

She entered his apartment seeing it clean. She dropped her things on the couch before going to the kitchen to cook for him.

She shook her head at herself knowing she wouldn't even cook for herself but here she was making Amala for her man who was angry with her.
