"Pass over here!"

"To your right! Your right!"

The sound of the players kicking the football and yelling at one another echoed in his ears as he watched them quietly on the bench. Jung Wooyoung was a new student and thus, he didn't have any friends yet. He just knew that he wanted to have some change in his life right now. He didn't want to be the small kid on the block anymore so he decided that he was going to join the cool kids. Though that would have to wait for when he actually started school since he didn't even know who his classmates were.

The next day, he was really excited about meeting his new classmates and maybe even schoolmates if he had the chance. He started talking to anyone who would entertain him until he met a bunch of students that basically were treated as the cool kids of the school. Young Wooyoung thought it was cool to be seen as one and approached them, wanting to be their friend.

"Hey," he chirped casually at the males who were taller and more fashionable than him obviously although they weren't adhering to the school rules anymore but Wooyoung wanted to fit in regardless. At first, they let him mingle with them but soon after, they started asking him to buy food or drinks for them. Wooyoung didn't think too deeply about it at first since he thought he was being friendly but one time, he was at the school's vending machine and his coin had rolled away from him as he had to hold about 5 bottles of drinks. It landed next to a student who was nearby drinking a can of coca cola alone. The student stopped and picked up the coin, holding it out to Wooyoung who beamed and took it. He took note of the male's fluffy hair held up in a bandana and messy uniform as if he had just ran a mile. "Thanks. Hello, I'm Wooyoung. I just moved in recently."

"San," the other replied without much thought. They were about the same height and size so Wooyoung felt relaxed around him somehow compared to the taller students. As if he found someone who was his proper age.

"San. That's a cool name. Why are you here all alone, San?"

"Hmm? I...," the male student trailed off before shrugging. "I guess it's difficult for me to make friends."

"Really? You seem alright to me," Wooyoung replied brightly, being the extrovert that he was.

"Right. Thanks?" the boy replied awkwardly and Wooyoung chuckled, somehow finding the other cute with his confused reactions like a lost kitten.

"Wanna be friends?" Wooyoung asked and San raised his brows.

"With you?"

"Yeah. Who else? Not like there's another me standing here."

San's confused face brightened up into the sweetest smile Wooyoung had ever seen and somewhere behind his ears, he could hear a thump but he chose to ignore it.

"I wouldn't mind being friends," San said, a smile still plastered on his face. Wooyoung took notice of his dimples and found it absolutely adorable.

"Cool. Then I guess I'll see you around. I gotta get back to the other guys," Wooyoung said as he motioned the drinks in his hand that he had gotten.

"Okay. Do you need help? It looks like a lot."

"I'm good."

San waved to Wooyoung who hurried back to the group of students who started nagging him for taking so long but he didn't really feel bothered by it since they still talked to him. After a week or so, Wooyoung met San again but this time, in the school gym. They were the same age but different classes evidently. It was only during the joint classes that Wooyoung was able to see the other either sitting by his lonesome or playing basketball. He noticed how his eyes would follow the other and their gazes would sometimes meet. San would smile a tiny crack and Wooyoung would wave back or smile too. They didn't talk much since they didn't really have the chance to when Wooyoung was always with a group of people and San would disappear soon after.
