Chapter 4

Nico’s Pov

The meeting was full of confused faces. There was Percy, Annabeth, Piper and Jason who had seen what happened but were still lost. Then there was Clarisse, Leo, the Stoll brothers and Will who had no clue what was going on. (Don't remember the others, sorry)  All attention went from the soaked and burnt boys to the soaked Nico holding a completely dry girl as he entered. Chiron was in wheelchair form, his hands on his lap.

"Let us commence," he announced and the meeting started.

"What's with the girl?" Clarisse hissed, motioning to Maree. Maree clung tighter to Nico and he felt annoyance. But towards Clarisse.

"She's the reason we're having this meeting," Chiron stated. "Do most of you know of the incident earlier today?"

Many people nodded, Leo looked around, lost. "What happened?"

"Jason got struck by lightning while touching Maree," Percy answered.

"Ooohhh."

"Soooo, she's a daughter of Zeus?" Connor Stoll asked.

"Not exactly. Did you guys bring the things I asked for?" Annabeth said. The Stoll brothers nodded and place a bag on the table full with... the most random stuff Nico had ever seen. What was that for?

He watched Annabeth set everything out then it clicked. Oh it was to test Maree. He looked down at the girl who was still holding his side for support. What had his world come to?

Nico glanced up to find Will looking at him strangely. "What?"

Will shock his head. "Nothing."

But from the look he was giving Maree, it didn't seem like nothing.  Was... was Will jealous? Nico looked down at Maree and mentally laughed. Maree was technically his half sister. Also Nico was gay. But was Will?

"Maree, you can do whatever with these objects. We'll just be monitoring you, ok?" Annabeth explained, snapping Nico out of his thoughts.

"Ok..." Maree answered, unsteadily.

She approached the table, letting go of Nico’s arm. She walked over to the pile of bones first, earning some confused looks. Maree glanced at Nico then back down to the pile. She let her hand hover of it. Shadows twisted up from the table. Everyone except Nico stepped back in shock and fear. Everyone except Nico and Will.

The shadows grabbed the bones and started forming a shape. When it was done, Maree waved her hand and the skeleton came to life. It was about as tall as a pencil and the shadows had also made it a bone guitar and Mexican hat. It started playing the soundtrack to Coco. Maree smiled softly at it and let the shadows fade. Nico glanced at Annabeth who was scribbling down notes. He then looked at Will who had a look of suprise, apology and guilt on his face. Ah, so he originally didn't like her.

Maree left the skeleton playing its music and moved on to the cup of water. She slowly rose her hand and let the water rise out of the cup and form a bubble in the air. Everyone murmured in suprise. Percy's eyes were full of joy.

She let the water settle back into the cup. Maree glanced at Annabeth with a questioning look. Annabeth nodded and Maree sighed. She opened her palms. In the left one, electricity and sparks twisted around her fingers. In the right hand, a tiny ball of fire danced around her palm. She quickly extinguished both and turned to Will. "Can you please get me a guitar?"

Will's eyes glazed over and he nodded before turning and rushing out the door. Nico saw out of the corner of his eye, Piper whispering something to Annabeth. Charmspeak too? Nico had a bad feeling about this.

Maree had moved on to the muts and bolts and had manage to assemble a plane that actually flew around the room. It was actually kind of cool until when Will walked in and it hit him in the face. "Ouch!"

Maree blushed. "Sorry." She took the guitar from Will and started playing it. Her voice washed over everyone filling them with emotion.

I don't want to talk right now.

I just want to watch TV.

I'll stay in the pool and drown.

So I don't have to watch you leave.

I put on survivor just to watch somebody suffer.

Maybe I should get some sleep.

Sinking in the sofa while they all betrayed each other.

What's the point of anything?

All of my friends are missing again.

Cause that's what happens when you fall inlove.

You don't have the time.

You leave them all behind.

You tell yourself it's fine, your just inlove.

Nico blinked tears out of his eyes. Everyone was silently crying. Even Chiron. Maree probably would've finished the other tests. But when she stood up, her eyes rolled behind her head and she would've hit the floor if Nico hadn't have caught her. The skeleton stopped singing and fell into a clump of bones. Everyone was staring at the two of them. Nico didn't like it. Leo broked the silence.

"So what do we do with her?"

(Song is TV by Billie Eilish. I have to learn the lyrics so why not include it in the story? Sorry if I'm spending too much time with Nico, I'll change once Maree wakes up :))
