A fat man with an alcohol problem is currently screaming at & kicking a 4-year-old boy.
The boy's mother tried to protect him but is backhanded away.
"ENOUGH!" An albino lanky man in a business suit cloaked in shadows by the front door screams.
"Who the hell are you? I'm Gabe Ugliano & I'll treat my future wife & stepson how I please." The fat man says.
The lanky man looks over to the mother, who is more scared of him, than her abuser.
"Don't worry. I'm not my brother. I'm not going to hurt your son."
The shadow Man then cuts Gabe's head clean off with a sword made of shadow.
He then looks at the boy & then asks "Are you okay little one?"
The boy relieved but terrified says "My name is Percy Jackson. Who are you?"
"My name is Hades & I'm your uncle."
"My mom doesn't have any siblings."
"I'm your dad's older brother."
"WHY DID HE ABANDON ME & MOM?!"
The mother screamed "PERCY! DO NOT ANGER HIM!"
"Miss?" Hades asks.
"Jackson, Sally Jackson, Lord Hades," the terrified mother replied.
"Ms. Jackson, I'm not my youngest brother. I'm not going to hurt you. I know why you would marry that guy, but I might have a better solution."
"I'm listening." Percy saw hope in his mother's eyes for the first time in a long time.
"First, I need to use the shower to make a call. While I do, please tell your son the truth."
Sally gave him directions, before telling Percy all about Greek Mythology & that he was the son of Poseidon & that he & his brothers promised to stop having children & his life was in danger because Poseidon broken the Oath. Percy learned his scent attracted monsters & Gabe's scent repelled everyone. That's why she wanted to marry him.
"Come to the bathroom, please." Hades called.
They did & saw an image of a throne room filled with seashells & various other items from the sea.
"Sally, Percy, I'm sorry you had to put up with such a disgusting man for your safety." A man with a Hawaiian shirt holding a trident says. "Hades has come up with a solution to your problem. I will start a construction company of Cyclops near where you live & that should keep you safe. Do not worry. I only allow my non-human eating descendants to work for me."
"It's true. Me & Poseidon are very picky about that rule." A woman in an elegant dress that was green with a scale pattern says before winking at Sally.
Sally blushes, remembering the threesome that led to Percy being born. "Thank you so much," she says.
"Good know please step out as me & Poseidon continue our discussion of our plans." Hades says.
The Jacksons stepped out but could still hear the screaming & arguing that unfolded soon after.
Percy started to cry at hearing his family argue so much & Sally hugged him.
Percy, remembering what his mother told him earlier, began to pray to the one person that could make the brothers get along.
"WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?" A woman dressed like a hippie from the 70s screamed.
"AAHHH! MOTHER!" The brothers shrieked.
The woman ignoring them looks down at the crying toddler. "Hello Percy. I'm your grandma Rhea."
She then turns to her sons with anger in her eyes.
That's the end of chapter 1 of Book 0. I plan to spend a lot of time on the Pre-Lightning Thief world building before getting into the main story.
I'm cross posting this on Archive of Our Own. I honestly like their search engine better than here.
I will cover all of the books inside of the canon timeline that follows the Lightning Thief, including the Egypt & Norse stories.
I accept requests, but I already have a 101-point story board for books 0 & 1 alone, so keep that in mind.
