Percy POV
Dream
I saw a 30-foot-tall giant suspended in the middle of an active volcano.
From the waist up, he is a humanoid with no clothes.
He has dreadlocks with bones woven through them, possibly taken from former demigods he has killed.
His skin was bronze, and his eyes are marble white.
From the waist down, his dragon legs are green, and he has claws as feet.
He was screaming in pain as the magma receded around him.
Another voice spoke from below, "I'm sorry brother!"
The giant spoke, "Do what you must! Destroy this infernal prison, me along with it! Then, go avenge all of our siblings by helping the Titans!"
These were Enceladus & Typhon. They have shared a prison since Athena threw a mountain on top of Enceladus in Sicily & Zeus threw Sicily on top of Typhon later.
If Saint Helens were destroyed, Typhon would be free, but Enceladus would reform under Mt. Diablo.
Typhon screamed & the volcano erupted, causing Enceladus scream before falling silent.
There Typhon stood.
He was a colossal shadowy figure composed of dark clouds.
His glowing yellows eyes wept for his brother, as he stood as tall as the sky & swore to protect the Titans & Gigantes.
8/16/09, Sunday
Camp Half-Blood, Long Island, New York, 8:00am
Awake
I prayed to my father & uncles to notify them.
I got ready to eat & fight, as after breakfast, I'm giving a battle speech before we fly towards the main city in response to the Titans' invasion in my Hephaestus Jet. I've never had to use it until now, with Blackjack & Alex Great's chariot.
They're set to arrive at the city boarders at 11 according to the hunters, amazons & other information networks.
The hunters & monsters loyal to Olympus are already there.
It'll take us 4 minutes to fly to the nearest airport & depart.
From there we set up as many double tipped spears pointing towards them in the ground to serve as pikes to slow them down, as well as large caltrops & beartraps.
We will oil up those roads to increase the chances of them falling before they reach our ground soldiers closer past all that in phalanx, with Elephants on either side & snipers at the top of buildings armed with bows, slings, javelins, catapults, ballista & more.
As well as auto-turrets & mines courtesy of the Hephaestus cabin.
I will lead the close range Pegasi force, while Lee Fletcher lead the sniper Pegasi & Clarisse leads the ground troops to the north, Nico the south, Bianca east and Piper west.
The Germanica arrived here last night & will be joining us.
Amphitheatre, Camp Half-Blood, Long Island, New York, 9:10am
I hit my gavel, before standing up to give my speech.
"My family, friends and comrades, the war is almost over. Life isn't fair, but that doesn't mean we should stop fighting for what's right. The world needs heroes, now more than ever. We can't afford to give up. It's not what you fight, but what you fight for that truly matters. None of chose to be demigods, but we can choose the legacy we leave behind. We're only as strong as we are united, as weak as we are divided. We have comrades from inside our family & out. From our vanguard, out to prove that everyone deserves a chance to prove themselves, regardless of their past mistakes, to our Germanic comrades, seeking to protect their own families, to the over 2 billion Egyptian automaton-equivalents. Do not think that you're too weak. Even the weakest person can change the course of the future. We have a Germanic WWI veteran with an oxygen tank ready to fight. It's not enough to fight for your friends. You have to fight for what's right, even if it means going against everyone you care about. Courage isn't the absence of fear. It's the ability to face it despite being afraid. I'm utterly terrified, but I'm going to be leading the Airforce from the front. Heroes aren't born, they're made through the choices they make. I choose to fight for my beliefs, family & home! Who is with me?!"
They all cheer.
Annabeth ran down the plan.
As everyone boarded the plane, Drew sat next to me & Piper & Annabeth sat behind me.
Drew spoke, "You look about ready to fall apart."
I quipped, "That obvious. I'm drowning in expectation & worry."
She responded, "Life is cruel, but it's also full of beauty and love. Love can be a powerful weapon, capable of healing the deepest wounds. It's up to us to find it and hold onto it. Remember Alexander the Great said 'the inferiority you feel is the quality of a king. You know how small you are, but still struggle to reach heights greater than you can imagine. A king must live more vividly than any other & be a figure for all to admire. He collects the envy of all of his heroes & stands as their guide. He must be greedier, laugh louder & rage harder than any other. He must exemplify the extremes of all things good & evil. That is why people envy & adore him. And why the flame of hope and aspiration to be like the king can burn within his people.' You are a king in all but name. You may not want it, but you have it."
Annabeth continued, "Hope is always there for those who look for it. You're the one that makes people want to look."
Piper finished, "What they said. Also, how cool is it that one of us actually knows the greatest king in Greek history personally?"
Drew blushed at this, and I felt the weight on my heart lessen.
What was needless to say was that power was meaningless without the responsibility to use it justly.
It was why Rhea banished Zeus and he isn't considered the greatest king.
We've been trained by Chiron, his teacher Apollo, Orion & several others.
We've gotten therapy from Dionysus & Apollo to overcome our phobias & fatal flaws.
We're as ready as we'll ever be.

Sally POV
Me & Paul were in the middle of evacuating but were stopped by Yamato.
He spoke, "I wish I could let you go, or at least make your deaths quick & painless, but Kronos wants to have you publicly crucified & flayed in front of Percy & you know what they say: 'The customer is always right.'"
