Book 2 - The Sea of Monsters: Chapter 11: Triumvirate Falls

Amphitheatre, Camp Half-Blood, Long Island, New York, 7:15am

Percy POV

I was sitting with Chiron & Mr. D, while everyone else was entering the area.

We did our breakfast & Cabin search early to increase the chance of finding spies.

Being Polemarch means I'm leading them into battle.

Granted most of the plan was already created by Athena, but I'm the one who must adapt if the plan doesn't work.

I can't wait for my 10 Strategoi/Boeotarchs to get elected, so I don't have to do all this alone.

Once everyone was there, I began to explain who triumvirate are & why are we doing this.

Thalia: "Why are you in charge? As a daughter of Zeus, I should be in charge."

Several people: "Shut up!"

Random: "Yeah! Percy's our leader!"

Clarisse: "You'd be dead if not for him!"

Thalia: "Shut up!" She says releasing lightning from her body, frying several people near her.

The look of remorse on her face, as Mr. D. wraps her up in vines, let me know that was an accident.

After the people she shocked were escorted to the Infirmary, we continued with our plan.

Me: "Anyway, we & the Hunters of Artemis will be performing an ambush. We will use our Pegasi to go through the roof & destroy their methods of escape, with some of us staying behind to guard the roof & the entrances of each floor we pass.

The Hunters will enter from every entrance on the floor, including Artemis & Apollo using the front door. We are to capture or kill everyone there.

There are spies for them at both camps, so we couldn't plan this assault in advanced.

The Triumvirate have Fasces, ceremonial axes that represent their divinity.

As lifelong warriors, Commodus & Caligula keep them on their person & are the most dangerous. DO NOT ENGAGE THEM ONE ON ONE!

They're too dangerous to be fought without back up." I paused as the pictures of the 3 came up on the projector behind us.

Me: "Nero's is guarded by a Persian monster that he convinced to serve him. Aphrodite & 3 of her children will charmspeak it into giving it up.

Nero's office is near the roof, so we will probably be fighting him, while the hunters fight Commodus, due to his office being near the floor.

Caligula is a wild card. His office is in the middle. Keep your eyes open for him.

If you're wondering why Camp Jupiter & the Amazons aren't helping us, Triumvirate has a secret 4th member in the last king of Rome. His base is set between Camp Jupiter & Amazon HQ, so they'll be taking care of the zombie.

Now, then LET US MARCH FORTH TO THE STABLES IN THE NAME OF OLYMPUS!"

Thank goodness Commodus & Caligula haven't returned to their own bases yet, given how long we've pushed this back for.

I feel sorry for the romans & Amazons. They had to wake up at 4:30, since these attacks needed to occur simultaneously.

They would've had to wake up earlier, but their mission was a lot more straight forward than ours, so they didn't have to spend as long catching people up.
