Book 1 - The Lightning Thief: Chapter 14: Annabeth's Nordic Journey

Dining Pavilion, Camp Half-Blood, Long Island, New York 9:00am

Percy POV

Aphrodite, Hestia, Piper & Rachel have joined the harem.

As we were leaving the pavilion Luke called me over.

Luke: "Will you come with me there's something I want to show you?"

Me: "Sure. Just let me tell Calypso, Annabeth & Drew quickly."

I told Annabeth to put on her cap & follow us.

Luke took me out to the middle of the forest.

He pulls out a sword.: "What do you think? It's half celestial bronze-half iron, so it can be used on both monsters & people. I call it 'Backbiter.'"

It was a 4ft Xiphos, with 1 side celestial bronze & flip it over for the steel side.

The only weapon like that is Kronos's scythe, meaning he stole it from Demeter who was entrusted with its protection.

Me: "Where did you get it?"

Luke: "I stole it from Demeter while you were explaining things to the council. There's a pit scorpion by your leg, so don't move."

I looked out of the corner of my eye & saw it. Dumbass, that's a baby giant scorpion.

It'll be the size of the cabins once it's fully grown.

I used my magic to soothe it, so it wouldn't attack.

Me: "Why?"

Luke: "Because that quest helped me realize how little we mean to the gods. Being sent to complete something Hercules already did, a fruit trip no less, opened my eyes. Kronos reached out to me & offered to birth a new era without the gods, the 6th age."

Me: "You're moving backwards. It'll be the 4th age all over again. Kronos was a worse king than Zeus & Ouranos was worse than that. Athena will be a good interim ruler & Porus will lead us into the true 6th age, just be patient."

Luke: "I can't trust the gods anymore. At least Kronos will bring something new"

I cut him off.: "No, he won't. He'll just bring back the old stuff the gods got rid off & make everything worse."

Luke: "I guess I can't convince you. Kill him!" He orders the scorpion to attack me, but it had already become docile.

I attacked him by summoning icicles & launching them at him, because I had no weapons & wasn't wearing armor. It was my ice vs his sword, at least I had range.

Luke: "You might want to return to camp. I had someone bring the KKK in."

Annabeth went to stab him from behind but lost her temper & gave away her location.

He side stepped her & ran off, as she fell.

Me: "We need to get back to camp!" I said helping her up & grabbing the scorpion as my new pet.

We ran back & saw the campers, Cyclopes & Gemini fighting an army of werewolves.

We joined the fight.

I told the scorpion to attack & throwed it at a wolf's face.

Its venom dissolved the wolf completely.

The scorpion jumped back on my arm, as I fought another & jumped on its face to repeat.

We eventually defeated them all.
