CHAPTER FOURTEEN

❝ What does love feel like? ❞
"Any luck?"
Merlin who had a book in her hand turned towards the doorway just to see Meliodas enter the room with hands behind his head. She closed the book she was currently reading and placed it on top of something.
"Yes. I had found this book that had information about the Dragon Empress and her people, I forgot I had it and it took me awhile to find it." Merlin walked over a shelf of books and pulled out a bright red book.
"I had found this book years ago but I believe it's tale about her and people, briefly explaining how her kingdom became to be and how it suddenly was destroyed along with her people vanishing."
Merlin made her way over towards Meliodas and opened the book. She used her magic to have whatever was written in the book to be read aloud.
Long long ago, the land of Britannia was overrun by huge, scaly, and vicious monsters. These monsters were dragons that were given god-like powers and they prowled the land like it was their own fighting to rule the land.
When one day a lone fire dragon managed to defeat all the dragons and become the ruler of the dragons.
This fire dragon went by the name of Igneel.
Igneel who was severely injured from fighting many other dragons, used the last bit of his strength to create life by splitting what was left of his eternal flame in half.
His eternal flame created a man and a woman, and he named them, Natsu and Lucy Dragneel. They stared up at him, waiting for him to speak.
"Y—you two... Make this land a grand kingdom.. I will not be able to guide you as I am dying.. but when a heir is birthed..I—I will be reborn within them, to guide and protect our kingdom.. Good luck.." Igneel had said to them very weakly and drew his last breath.
Natsu and Lucy Dragneel honored Igneel's last words and created a flourishing kingdom, The Dragon Kingdom.
And so, the kingdom of dragons held power over the land of Britannia. They had a strong army, good trading systems, and most all people who lived in harmony.
The kingdom was ruled by the royal dragon family, well the Dragon Empress. When the first rulers of the Dragon Kingdom, Natsu and Lucy Dragneel gave birth to a baby girl, each and every ruler that has came to be and passed has been a woman with powers of the supreme dragon deity; Igneel.
When the another new dragon empress was born, no one knew things would take a dark turn.
Ryoko Dragneel.. daughter of Sky Dragneel and Yūko Dragneel, she was different from the previous Dragon Empresses. She was gorgeous, stronger, and more powerful than any other empress.
On one special day, the kingdom was getting prepared to celebrate Ryoko's eighteenth birthday...disaster had struck...
Blood of two important and dear people to Ryoko had been sprayed right in front of her...
And when she reacted with such a vicious rage, she had did a horrible deed..
She had——
The voice that was reading the book aloud had stopped abruptly when the next page had turned to a missing one that seemed that it has been ripped out.
The next pages were all shredded up to the point the words couldn't be put together to form the former sentences that were once able to see and read.
"Interesting, whoever ripped out that missing page and shredded the rest of the pages doesn't want anyone to know what happened." Merlin closed the book and sat it down on top of something.
"We have to find out what happened even if she tries to kill us for finding out. I don't know what she's capable of but she's dangerous and someone to keep an eye on." Meliodas stared at the closed book for a couple seconds before shifting his gaze over towards the door.
"In the meantime, try to see if you can decipher the last few pages of the book since that is the only lead of information we have. Other than that, we'll see if she gives us any leads while she's here." Meliodas ordered walking over towards the door.
"Yes, captain." Merlin smirked watching her captain walk out the door. 'This Dragon Empress is making me all the more curious.'

"Ban."
Upon hearing the familiar ethereal voice of hers, Ban turned his head towards the direction he had her voice come from.
And there she was, sitting at the edge of the bed he was in. He just stared at her and didn't utter a word as he took in her appearance which he found...breathtaking.
Sunlight streamed through the window, casting a soft glow over her, illuminating her features. Her fiery red hair glistened in the light, while her deep brown skin radiated a warm, rich glow.
But it was her beautiful brown eyes, locked on him, that captivated him the most. They held him in place, drawing his gaze downward to her lips—full, always glossy, and irresistibly tempting.
He couldn't help but wonder how it would feel to have his lips pressed against hers...
"Ban."
Ryoko had called out to him again and he blinked, shaking his head to clear his thoughts away.
"Yeah?" He answered back nonchalantly, rubbing the back of his head and averted his eyes over towards the wall.
'Why the hell was I thinking about kissing her?! I love Elaine..!' Ban thought as he scowled, furring his brows in annoyance and confusion. He continued to scowl as he waited for Ryoko to say whatever she wanted to say.
