CHAPTER ONE

❝ Seek the Dragon Empress if you dare. ❞
Scarlet eyes blinked several times before its owner took in their surroundings. The Fox's Sin of Greed, Ban yawned as he sat up from his slouching position on the chair.
Currently he was the in Boar Hat with rowdy customers and members of the team he was part of. The Seven Deadly Sins to be exact.
"Ban! Can you go out into town and get some ingredients to cook something before captain drives away the customers with his horrible cooking?" Diane asked as she shoved a list in front of his face.
"My cooking isn't that bad." Meliodas denied with a sheepish grin.
"I love you and all captain but that is a lie." Diane said as she rolled her eyes.
"Yeah yeah, I'll go just don't shove a piece paper in my damn face." Ban grunted as he took the list from Diane and stood up from his seat and stretched a bit before turning to leave the tavern.
The cool breeze brushed along Ban's face as he walked down the grassy hill with his hands in his pockets before making his way into town that was at the bottom of the hill.
Looking over the food stalls, he pulled the list out of his pocket and scanned the items that was written down before placing the list back in his pocket before making his way over to the food stalls.

Since Ban was done with buying the ingredients for what he supposed to cook he decided to do a little investigation on if anyone knew how to revive the dead but each person he had asked had no clue on how to.
"Excuse me?"
Ban turned around and saw the form of a small shrill old woman before him who was clad in black cloak but Ban could tell she was a merchant and a mysterious one at that.
"Yeah?"
"Sir...? I heard you're looking for someone who can revive the dead." The old woman said which instantly caught Ban's attention.
"I am. Do you know anyone that can revive the dead?" He asked and the old woman motioned him to lean down to her height which Ban did so.
"Seek the Dragon Empress if you dare." She whispered in his ear.
"The Dragon Empress? And where can I find this person?" Ban questioned as he stood up to his full height.
"Don't say her name out in the open like that!" The old woman scolded before she looked around to see if anyone was paying attention to them but didn't see anyone as she turned back to Ban.
"The high tops of Mt. Kozun. The tales say she resides below the once active volcano but be careful young man, the tales also say that when people search for the great Dragon Empress and enter her domain no one returns." The old woman informed.
Ban raised a brow at this information which sounded like a load of bull to him but this could be closest thing to bring Elaine back.
"And what else these damn tales say?"
"The tales also say that the Dragon Empress hasn't been around for billion years ago, but—"
"Billion years ago?! Then how the hell do I know if this isn't a load of bullshit?!" Ban exclaimed.
"Language young man." The old woman scolded before reaching into her pocket to pull something out and raised her hand up so Ban can see it clearly.
Looking down, Ban saw that it was a beautiful crafted gemstone that had a light red crystals at the bottom while the top was a dark red almost the color of black.
"With this gemstone you can find the Dragon Empress and once you enter her domain the tales say that the gemstone will light up with a dark red color to guide you to her." She said as Ban took the gem out her hand to examine it more.
"Anything else?" Ban questioned as he kept his gaze on the beautiful gemstone simply memorized by its beauty.
"Once you find her be careful of your words or she won't hesitate to devour you in her monstrous heat and look for the dragon tattoo she bears."
Finally taking his gaze of the gem, he found out that the old woman was nowhere to be seen. It was like she vanished out of thin air.
'Weird...' Ban thought as he started to make his way back to the tavern and a few moments he arrived back at the tavern. He immediately went behind the counter to start cooking up some delicious food while he slipped the gem in his pocket making sure it wouldn't fall out and shatter.
After an hour or two the drunk and sober customers started to file out the Boar Hat and into the cool void of the dark to start their walk home before the tavern was empty with only the sins occupying the area.
Ban yawned while he walked up the stairs and opened the door to his room before closing it shut with his foot as he made his way over the bed.
Sitting down on the soft cushion of the bed, he pulled the gem out of his pocket and stared at it with a curious but serious gaze.
"Ban have you seen where Diane went—what is that?"
Not taking his eyes off the beautiful gem, he answered King who had opened the door a few seconds ago.
"It's something that I can use to bring Elaine back."
