Chapter 23: Weakspots

You fly over to the wall and surprisingly, are met by Eren.

"Nice one Eren! Good call!" A soldier shouts

"Looks like he's in control again." Mikasa says

"Yeah, but Reiners not just gunna let him go, you were right, (Y/N). Escape is impossible." Armin says as Reiner makes his way towards us.

Armin looks up to the colossal and goes to Hange. They quickly come up with a plan, we need Eren to buy us more time as we Tire out the colossal. Hange explains that every time he emits steam, he's shrinking, he doesn't have unlimited abilities. She also points out how there are weak spots in Reiner's armor around the joints. While he is protected, he also needs to have freedom of movement. We should aim for those uncovered areas such as the armpits, groin, and back of the knee. The titans continuing grappling one another and Mikasa readies up for a massive attack. While Eren is pinned under him, she slices the back of his knee, rendering it useless as we all watch in shock from above. You observe his body, looking for more weak points when suddenly they come to a halt and Reiner lets out a ground shaking roar. Eren continues to push on Reiner's head, it looks as if it's about to come off.

"Everyone be on guard! He's calling for back up!" Hange shouts.

We wait in anticipation of what's going to happen next, no visual on any incoming titans. What do these two have planned? Eren is almost there, he's about to defeat the armored Titan when you hear a soldier shout at the top of his lungs.

"ABOVE YOU! LOOK OUT!"

You all gasp as you look up to see the Colossal Titan falling over, there's barely any time to shoot your gears, but you're able to escape its path, soaring down like a comet towards the earth below. You are thrown off balance by the winds of scorching heat, watching helplessly as the armored Titan bites into Eren's nape, taking him captive, as Bertholdt carries Ymir in their human forms. You can make out a single visual, and it's your defeat. No.. it can't be that easy. There's one final opening to deploy your anchors into Reiner, so you quickly take that chance without thinking. He's already running, but your anchors manage to latch on and he drags you at inhuman speeds. In one swift movement, Reiner grabs your wires and yanks them out, sending you flying towards the ground.

You eyes struggle to make out the world around you as you move at a terrifying pace. You refuse to tumble to your death, so you tighten your body, desperately shooting your anchors out into anything that's willing to catch them. It's a fraction of a second too late, you still hit the ground harder than you've ever hit anything in your life.

You wake up, laid out on top of the wall with many other soldiers that were injured during battle. Your head is pounding and your body is in excruciating pain, mostly your head, but each breath is low and weak, you're unable to take in large amounts of air without feeling like you're being stabbed.

"(Y/N)! You're awake." Historia says as she kneels over to you, wiping your forehead with a cool rag.

"Where are they?" You ask as you begin to sit up, but the pain is overwhelming and you clutch your chest. She supports your back and helps you sit up just enough as she holds a bottle to your lips.

"Here." She says softly as you sip the cold water. Everything around you is fuzzy and your ears are ringing slightly. You can hear the sound of hooves in the distance, how long have you been here like this? You glance over to see Erwin alongside the MP's heading in your direction with wagons to transport the injured. To your left, there are others in far worse shape than you, burnt skin covering their body while they're shivering, some even have their limbs contorted in unnatural positions. Other than your throbbing headache and achy chest, you're okay. You attempt to stand up and Historia puts her hand on your chest.
"No, (Y/N). You have to go back with the others. You've hit your head. You have to rest."
You push past her get to your feet and brush off the dirt from your clothing, wobbling as you stand up straight. The sudden change of movement makes you lightheaded and once more, you collapse to the ground, letting your heavy lids win.
